On June 22, 2000, due to complications from pneumonia, Zhao Yidi died at the Age of 88 at the Strouby Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. Zhao Yidi has accompanied Zhang Xueliang for more than sixty years, and her death has made Zhang Xueliang sad, and Zhang Xueliang, who is sitting in a wheelchair, is silent, and tears slowly flow from his eyes.
Zhang Xueliang's eyes looked blankly at the priests and doctors busy, and no one knew what Zhang Xueliang was thinking at the moment. Zhang Xueliang once said that he owed a lot to Zhao Yidi in his life. Logically, Zhao Yidi accompanied Zhang Xueliang to the end, she should be Zhang Xueliang's favorite woman, but Zhao Yidi did not see it that way.
"Yu Fengzhi is the best wife, Zhao Yidi is the wife who suffers the most, Mrs. Bei is the most lovely girlfriend, and my favorite is in New York." This is Zhang Xueliang's original words, Mrs. Bei is Jiang Shiyun. There is no doubt that Zhao Yidi is deeply in love with Zhang Xueliang, and from the fact that she does not hesitate to break off the father-daughter relationship with her father, we can see how deeply he loves Zhang Xueliang.
Zhao Yidi, whose ancestral home is Dongyuan Village, Lingdong Township, Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province, was born in Hong Kong in 1912 and ranked fourth in his family. It is said that when Zhao Yidi was born, a ray of light appeared in the sky, also known as Zhao Qixia. In 1928, at the age of 16, Zhao Yidi met the mercurial Zhang Xueliang at the Tianjin Dance Hall.
At this time, Zhang Xueliang was 27 years old and already had his wife Yu Fengzhi. However, the two were in agreement, and then Zhao Yidi eloped to Shenyang and lived in a small building next to the Marshal's Mansion. When Zhao Yidi's father, Zhao Qinghua, learned of this, he was furious and repeatedly telegraphed Zhao Yidi to return home, but was refused.
Enraged, Zhao Qinghua published a revelation in the newspaper breaking off the relationship between father and daughter, "The fourth daughter Qixia, who has recently been confused by freedom and equality, has run selfishly and does not know where to go, and according to articles 19 and 32 of the family ancestral hall regulations, her name should be removed, and this hall is one of the shrines, and she should follow the family law and submit it to the head of the ancestral hall for implementation." ”
His father threatened to break off the relationship, but Zhao Yidi still did not look back. In Zhao Yidi's view, love is far more important than family affection. In February 1940, Zhao Yidi succeeded Yu Fengzhi to accompany Zhang Xueliang, and the two were never separated again. However, before his parents died, he never saw Zhao Yidi again.
On July 4, 1964, Zhao Yidi finally held a wedding with Zhang Xueliang. Zhao Yidi is desperate for love, which has been recognized by many people. It is worth mentioning that in his later years, Zhao Yidi finally got in touch with the third sister-in-law in the family.
