Appreciation of Qing Qian Daxin calligraphy

Qian Daxin, a Scholar of the Qing Dynasty, was an important figure in the Qianjia School; he ruled a wide range of studies, was proficient in the examination of many aspects such as scripture and history, phonology, exegesis, system, geography, and so on; he took scholarship as his own responsibility; he did not forget to govern his studies for officials; he studied more diligently after resigning from his official post and returned to his hometown. Especially in the field of historiography, Qian Daxin has made pioneering contributions to the study of Yuan history. The Ming Dynasty official revision of the "History of the Yuan" was extremely wrong, the catalog was chaotic, especially ignoring the study of the Yuan Dynasty clans, so that the modern people knew very little about the Yuan Dynasty Semu people. In view of this, Qian Daxin searched for the words of a hundred families, which took nearly thirty years, imitating the "Book of Tang" to write the "Yuanshi Clan Table", which has become an indispensable tool for the study of Yuan history today. In addition, he also took the yuanren's writings and sub-collections of history to compile the "Yuanshi Yiwenzhi", which is also an indispensable and important work for the study of yuan history. His historical works, combined into the "Twenty-Two Historical Examinations", surpassed the achievements of the contemporaries Wang Mingsheng's "Seventeen Histories of Shang" and Zhao Yi's "Twenty-two Historical Notes".

Qian Daxin has long studied yuan history and is proficient in Mongolian. The History records that the Mongolian inscriptions of the Yuan Dynasty were obtained by the Qing Dynasty, and no one knows them, so they were translated by the guoshi Zhang Jiaduobiji. When it was later transcribed into a book, Qian Daxin was able to point out its fallacies. Erudite and memorable, the best of the best.

His calligraphy originated from the study of Jin Shi, good at writing Han Li, using the pen Gu Mao, strange and interesting, Kai Xing Cang Yi Simple Jian, with the calligraphy style of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, born out of the cultivation of learning.
