The forest sub-bureau responded quickly, immediately organized elite police forces to set up a special case team, strengthened contact with the Maoming City Public Security Bureau Network Police and other departments, and analyzed and investigated the clues.
After in-depth investigation, the special case team found that Dai Moufeng (a 36-year-old from Maonan District, Maoming City) and Huang Mouqi (a 35-year-old from Maonan District, Maoming City) were suspected of committing major crimes, and the police had clues such as the time and place where they would conduct transactions with buyers in the near future.

Police arrested the suspect.
On March 10, the Forestry Branch of the Maoming Municipal Public Security Bureau organized police forces to arrive at the trading site in advance to wait for round-up. At 14:35, the police found that 2 suspicious men drove an electric car to a gas station, carrying two cardboard suitcases, and the 2 suspicious young men matched the appearance characteristics of the suspects Dai Moufeng and Huang Mouqi who had been investigated earlier. The police immediately launched an arrest, arrested him and seized 2 live African grey parrots suspected of being national key protected wild animals and 2 live honey-sucking parrots in a cardboard box.
Police seized wild animals at the scene.
Subsequently, in the house of suspect Huang Mouqi, 8 suspected eclectic parrots, 6 african grey parrots, 1 honey-sucking parrot live, and 1 jardin's parrot were found in the house where the two people jointly farmed and had not yet been sold. After interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the illegal sale of wild protected animals.
Police seized wild animals.
After identification, the 8 African grey parrots seized were endangered wild animals under national key protection, and 8 eclectic parrots, 3 honey-sucking parrots and 1 Jardin's parrot were endangered wild animals under national secondary key protection.
According to the police, criminal suspects Dai Moufeng and Huang Mouqi bought wild animals online and then illegally sold them in Maoming. The two suspects have a strong sense of anti-reconnaissance, and when chatting with traders, they use abbreviations or other code names to replace the names of wild animals, thus avoiding police patrols.
