On November 29, the surging news (www.thepaper.cn) reporter learned from Shanghai Customs that recently, the customs officers of Shanghai Pudong Airport carried out supervision of inbound and outbound express mail in the Shanghai Airport Express Channel. After risk analysis, a batch of 25 inbound shipments containing the declared "DARMESEQ Syrian Coral Necklace" attracted the attention of customs officers. After opening the box and thoroughly investigating, the goods were a total of 102 pieces of various types of jewelry, weighing 2015.1 grams, and the jewelry was inlaid with smooth and delicate red particles suspected coral products.

The on-site customs officer immediately sent him to the Shanghai office of the National Endangered Species Management Office for appraisal. A total of 41 pieces of ornaments weighing 282.5 grams in this batch of ornaments are identified as identical to the characteristics of stony corals and belong to Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES Convention).

Customs Reminder: All species of the order Stony Coral belong to Appendix II species of the CITES Convention. According to the relevant provisions of the CITES Convention, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Wild Animals, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Endangered Animals, and the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of import and export of endangered wild animals and plants, those importing and exporting endangered wild animals and plants and their products must obtain a certificate of permission to import and export issued by the National Administration for the Import and Export of Endangered Species. Species and their products that do not have an import and export certificate are prohibited from trade, carrying, or mailing into or out of China's borders.
