Qingyang District has a profound historical heritage, is one of the birthplaces of ancient Shu civilization and poetry culture, with Du Fu Caotang, Jinsha ruins, Kuanzhai Alley, Qingyang Palace, Wenshu Monastery and other rich cultural connotations of historical sites; there are also Chen Ma Po tofu, Zhong Shui Dumplings, Dragon Scribes and other Chinese time-honored brands, as well as revolutionary restaurant hard work, inheritance of ingenuity of the century-old god kitchen and other catering cutting-edges.
In order to select Qingyang's "Tianfu Famous Dishes" and "Tianfu Famous Shops", the Qingyang District Bureau of Commerce and the Chengdu Municipal Federation of Gastronomic Trade Unions voted 20 popular, well-known and representative Qingyang famous dishes from March 18 to April 3 through recommendation declaration, online voting, expert group review and other links, and on behalf of Qingyang District, they were selected as "Chengdu Famous Dishes" and "Chengdu Famous Stores" in Chengdu. It became the district, city and county with the most selected "Chengdu Famous Dishes" (17 dishes selected). After layers of selection, 10 of the 17 "Chengdu Famous Dishes" in Qingyang District were recommended by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce to participate in the "Tianfu Famous Dishes" in Sichuan Province, becoming the 2021 "Delicious Sichuan" Sichuan Catering Gathering event and the 2021 "Delicious Sichuan" Tianfu Famous Dishes Selection Activity sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce.
