Today is a traditional dish "husband and wife lung tablets", so how did it come about, let's take a look.

In the last years of the Qing Dynasty, there were many vendors selling cold mixed lung slices on the streets of Chengdu, brineing low-cost beef offal and scraps, sliced with soy sauce, red oil, chili pepper, pepper noodles, sesame seeds and other spices, which was called "cold mix waste pieces", and later because of the poor taste of cow lungs, the cow lungs were removed.

In the 1930s, a couple in Chengdu, Guo Chaohua and Zhang Tianzheng, made a living selling cold mix "waste pieces", the two were industrious and practical, and the "waste pieces" produced were beautiful in color, tender in meat, spicy and fragrant, and the taste was bashi, winning a place in the street and alleys and becoming a local brand. After a long time, the local residents called the "waste film" made by the husband and wife as "husband and wife lung film", but because the waste meaning of the "waste film" was not good, and because the original "waste film" contained cow lungs, the "husband and wife waste film" was changed to "husband and wife lung film".

The follow-up husband and wife opened a store in Chengdu Banbianqiao, the store name is "Husband and Wife Lung Tablets", the plaque is a gold character black background, personally inscribed by the calligrapher Zhao Yunyu, after several generations of efforts, husband and wife lung tablets have become a well-known classic dish at home and abroad.
