Wang Ping had 7 children, 3 sons, and 4 daughters, of which the most accomplished was undoubtedly the eldest son, Fan Xiaoguang, who served as deputy commander of the Chengdu Military Region with the rank of lieutenant general.
Many people may wonder: Fan Xiaoguang is Wang Ping's son, how can he be surnamed Fan? The reason is simple, Fan Xiaoguang followed his mother Fan Jingxin's surname.

Fan Xiaoguang was born in July 1945, when the War of Resistance Against Japan was about to be won, so Wang Ping named him "Xiaoguang".

Fan Xiaoguang was furious and said, "Someone may die if you delay for a second, where are they idle to shoot these!" Fan Xiaoguang ordered that if no place was vacated to save people, the relevant personnel would be severely punished!
Another time, Fan Xiaoguang and many commanders and fighters were busy in the Tangjiashan Weir Lake for 4 days, and they did not eat enough once, not because the logistics supply could not be improved, but because there were too many reporters, and no amount of food was enough for the reporters to be swept away.
