1. Nutritional upgrade

While ensuring the deliciousness and quality of its products, McDonald's is committed to achieving less salt, better oil, and more fruits and vegetables. New Happy Paradise Meal refers to the "McDonald's Global Child Nutrition Standard" and fully considers the dietary nutritional needs of Chinese children. The new package has been upgraded from a three-piece set to a four-piece set, including one staple (optional meat protein source: fish, beef, chicken), one snack (optional mini fries, corn cup), one fruit and vegetable (optional apple slices, fresh vegetable cup, corn cup) and one drink (optional pure milk, water, 100% apple juice).

From 2010 to 2018, McDonald's China reduced salt by adjusting the salt content of related products, such as hamburger bread (about 10% minus%), ketchup (about 10%) and fries (about 20%). In 2017, McDonald's restaurants began to use sunflower canola oil, which significantly reduced saturated fatty acids by more than two-thirds and made the nutritional structure of the products more balanced.

Ding Gangqiang, director of the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said: "The Healthy China Action (2019-2030) is a development strategy formulated by the National Health Commission. The Nutrition Institute of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention actively carries out research on population nutrition and health in China, organizes nutrition experts to go into the community to popularize healthy nutrition knowledge for children, advocates dietary balance, and integrates the strategic concept of healthy China into the daily life of the people. McDonald's has launched a series of initiatives to implement the Healthy China Action and implement the goal of 'three minus three health', accumulating experience for the exploration and development of nutrition and health knowledge. We look forward to more catering enterprises taking active actions to jointly promote the construction of a healthy China. ”

2. Escalation of Liability

McDonald's China has been committed to disseminating dietary nutrition knowledge to children through edutainment and education, and cultivating scientific concepts of diet and health. Following the launch of the "Mai Mai Experience Camp" in the restaurant in 2015, in August this year, it cooperated with the Chinese Nutrition Society to carry out "Children's Food Education". As of August 2019, about 50,000 children across the country have participated in these activities. In the future, McDonald's China will continue to work with various industry partners to continue to hold food education activities.

"Uncle McDonald's House" is a Global McDonald's charity program that supports families of poor sick children to seek medical treatment in different locations. Since 2015, mcDonald's China has donated 0.5 yuan to the "China Soong Ching Ling Foundation McDonald's Uncle House Charity Fund" for every happy meal sold, so that children can contact and participate in public welfare from a young age. By the end of 2018, happy meals had donated more than 32 million yuan. In the future, McDonald's China will promote the opening of more "McDonald's Uncle Homes" across the country to help families with sick children in need.

3. Happy upgrade

Happy Meal is not only a symbol of deliciousness, but also comes with toys that make people look forward to it. In order to bring more surprises to customers, McDonald's and Disney reached a seven-year cooperation. From 2019 onwards, the two sides will carefully select the favorite movie characters of Chinese children for the design of happy meal toys. Zhang Jiayin said: "We are very happy to have this meaningful collaboration with Disney. I believe that soon, fans of all sizes will have more fun through happy meals at McDonald's restaurants. "The first round of cooperative toys will be the first to enter McDonald's stores nationwide from November 13.
