On December 1, 1948, after the establishment of the North China People's Government, the North China Bank of the Liberated Area of North China, the Beihai Bank of the Liberated Area of Shandong and the Northwest Farmers Bank of the Northwest Liberated Area were merged to establish the Chinese Bank in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and issued the Chinese Bank Currency (hereinafter referred to as RMB). The issuance of the renminbi marks the beginning of China's independent, unified and stable monetary system.
Comrade Dong Biwu, who was the chairman of the North China People's Government at the time, has always collected various RMB samples in the ticket cabinet, including the first set of RMB tickets, including 4 rmb tickets, 4 Wu yuan, 2 Shi yuan, 2 Yi Shi yuan, 2 Wu Shi yuan, and 2 one hundred yuan. The name of the "Chinese Bank" on the ticket is written by Dong Biwu himself. The theme of the renminbi pattern involves the economic construction and people's life patterns of industry, agriculture, commerce, textiles, transportation, transportation, factories and mines at that time, reflecting the true historical significance, status and role of China's first set of renminbi.
The unified issuance of the renminbi was a major measure taken to greet the liberation of the whole country; it eliminated all kinds of currencies issued by the Kuomintang government, put an end to the inflation of the past few decades under the rule of the Kuomintang and the history of foreign currency, gold and silver coins circulating and trading in the market in the past hundred years, promoted the comprehensive victory of the people's liberation war, and played an important role in the economic recovery in the early days of the founding of New China.
