author:History

Born in the world, there should be something to do and something not to do. Throughout modern China, although it is difficult to be meng, there are many people who can be born, and the heroes and heroes do not know how many, and Dong Biwu must belong to one of them.

From the Xinhai Revolution, to the founding of the Communist Party of China, to the later War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and even the founding of New China, he can be said to have witnessed the journey of modern China from decay to prosperity, and even Chairman Mao called him "Elder Dong" when he met him, which shows how much his contribution to New China is.

As one of the founders of the Communist Party of China and one of the founders of New China, Dong Biwu devoted almost his life to the revolutionary cause and to China, and all the sons and daughters of China should remember his contributions to the country and the people. He served as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee, acting chairman of the state, and his second son was chairman of the board.

In 1886, Dong Biwu was born in Huang'an, Hubei Province, to an ordinary family of teachers, so even though he lived in poverty, Dong Biwu received a very good education from an early age.

Perhaps because he understood many truths prematurely, Dong Biwu in his youth faced with a decaying country, a decadent Qing government, an invading foreign power, and a struggling people, he had long set a grand ambition, and one day, he must save the country and save the people in the depths of the water.

On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out, Dong Biwu heard the news, and then he followed Dr. Sun Yat-sen to start the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal revolutionary road.

In the later confrontation with the Qing government and the warlord Yuan Shikai, he never retreated, and at every moment, Dong Biwu was concerned about the invisible disaster victims on the land of China, and he understood that only by establishing a new order in China could he completely save the people from water and fire.

After the outbreak of the October Revolution, Dong Biwu was deeply affected, and he smelled from the subsequent influence of the October Revolution that the Chinese revolution might usher in a turning point, and after discussing with a group of like-minded friends, he understood that if the Chinese revolution wanted to win, he also had to follow the path of Lenin.

Subsequently, Dong Biwu began to gather people of insight in China, began to popularize the new culture, and studied Marxism-Leninism, hoping to find something worthy of reference from the cases of the victory of the Russian Revolution and use it for the Chinese revolution.

After the May Fourth Movement, various student movements began to arise throughout the country, and Dong Biwu personally went to Shanghai to organize and lead the student movement in Shanghai, and forced the government to punish traitors who signed treaties of mourning and humiliation through the forces of all classes in society.

Subsequently, in the face of the revolutionary movement in full swing in China, Dong Biwu always insisted on running on the front line, and he always worked hard with confidence that the revolution would succeed.

In 1921, Dong Biwu attended the first national congress of the Communist Party of China and became one of the founders of the Communist Party of China in the true sense, after the meeting, Dong Biwu officially began to organize and lead various revolutionary movements throughout the country as the main representative of the party, and at the same time began to develop a new generation of revolutionary forces of the party among people of insight in various places.

Later, Dong Biwu also traveled to various countries to learn from the advanced revolutionary experience of various countries, hoping to find a revolutionary direction suitable for China's national conditions.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Dong Biwu, who was nearly half a hundred years old, always firmly followed the footsteps of the Communist Party in carrying out the revolutionary movement, and after the start of the Long March, Dong Biwu insisted on following the Soldiers of the Red Army to complete the long march together despite his weak body.

After the end of the Long March, Dong Biwu, who arrived in northern Shaanxi, quickly threw himself into new work, he was a man of letters, unable to go to battle to kill the enemy, so he began to contribute to the revolution with the method he was good at.

Soon after, Dong Biwu served as the president of the Central Party School, and began to recruit people of insight from all over the country to carry out special education and training, and during this period, the Central Party School also trained a large number of revolutionary backbones for the country, and these revolutionary backbones made great contributions to the final victory of the revolutionary struggle in the subsequent revolutionary struggle.

After the outbreak of the War of Liberation, Dong Biwu still went deep into the enemy areas and maintained friendly exchanges with many people from democratic parties, hoping to do his best to achieve domestic liberation in a non-war manner.

On October 1, 1949, Chairman Mao ascended the Tiananmen Tower and solemnly proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China, and Dong Biwu stood by Chairman Mao's side at this time and witnessed the founding of New China, at this time Dong Biwu was 63 years old, and he had spent most of his life.

However, even so, he is still like a young man, full of high morale, after the founding of New China, he successively served as a member of the Central People's Government, vice premier of the Government Council and director of the Political and Legal Committee, president of the Supreme People's Court, etc. During his reign, he worked diligently and meticulously to contribute to the new China.

When Chairman Mao visited the Soviet Union, he sent a secret telegram to the Central Committee and appointed Comrade Dong Biwu to handle the affairs of the Central Committee on his behalf, that is, to handle many domestic affairs in his capacity as acting chairman.

It is not difficult to see from this that both Chairman Mao and other leaders of the Party Central Committee have considerable trust in Dong Biwu, and the source of this trust is the blood he spilled for the revolution for most of his life. In 1973, Dong Biwu was elected to the 10th Politburo Standing Committee, and although he was already an elderly man, the central government's trust in him did not diminish in the slightest.

Dong Biwu never seems to have considered personal honor and disgrace in his life, from his youth he was determined to save the country and save the people, and then through many eras of nodes, always struggling in the front line of the revolution, he never stopped, always strides towards the front, every step of the development of modern China, it seems to have his figure.

In 1975, Dong Biwu, who was already on a sickbed, wrote the last poem of his life: "Ninety years have passed in an instant, and it is difficult for me to feel how difficult it is to feel." The maladministration of the five dynasties has been experienced first-hand, and the new regulations of a generation must be gradually worn out. Thoroughly renovate and reform the face, and follow the people to govern the mountains and rivers. Obey the invincibles of Marxism-Leninism and be convinced that the future will be a success. ”

Just a few dozen words seem to have summed up the mental journey of his life. Twenty days later, a generation of revolutionary legends Dong Biwu died in Beijing at the age of ninety, such a revolutionary old man, until death still thinks about the great righteousness of the country.

Dong Biwu's second son, Dong Liangfei, was an advanced model among the young people who went to the countryside in the 70s of the last century, and was also the most beloved child of Dong Biwu, but despite this, at a time when the whole country was responding to the policy of urban youth going to the countryside, Dong Biwu did not hesitate to let his son become a zhiqing.

In fact, with his position at that time, even if he arranged a small job for his son, he could let his son stay in the city, but Dong Biwu did not do so.

Before leaving, he called his son Dong Liangfei to his side and told him in a serious tone that when he went to the countryside, he must learn more and see more, never put himself high, and must go deep into practice to learn.

Dong Liangfei recalled that at that time, his father taught him that he must make him think of himself as a most ordinary farmer, and he always remembered what his father said, and before leaving, Dong Liangfei asked his father for two items, that is, his father's old towel and toothbrush.

In Dong Liangfei's memory, his father's life style has always been hard and simple, the towel for washing his face has been broken and can no longer be broken, but his father is still using it, and the brush for brushing his teeth has been worn out of shape, but it is still carefully retained by Dong Biwu, and these two things represent his father's hard and simple revolutionary spirit in Dong Liangfei's heart.

He asked his father for these two items to take with him, so that no matter where he was, he could remind himself that he must learn from his father's simple spirit.

Dong Liangfei did not live up to Dong Biwu's expectations, and after going to the countryside to be a zhiqing, Dong Liangfei went deep into the masses, began to learn from the most basic agricultural knowledge, and followed the old people in the village to the fields.

In this way, step by step, he went from an ordinary Zhiqing to the deputy secretary and secretary of the brigade, and then became the best among the young people who went to the countryside to become Zhiqing with him, and all this Dong Liangfei attributed to his father Dong Biwu's teaching to him.

Then Dong Biwu's physical condition took a sharp turn for the worse, Dong Liangfei could only take leave to go home to accompany his father, and half a year later Dong Liangfei returned to the countryside of Hebei again, but just after Dong Liangwu left, Dong Biwu's physical condition continued to deteriorate, and finally even reached the point where the oil ran out.

After several days of fighting the disease, Dong Biwu, who was already ninety years old, finally died because of his deteriorating condition.

Dong Liangfei, who later returned to Beijing, worked in the Agricultural Mechanization Service Corporation of the Beijing Agricultural Machinery Department, and after several years of work, he went south to do business, founding Guangzhou Zhonglian Real Estate Company and Tianjin Tianxin Dingsheng Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd., and served as the chairman of both companies.

In March 2009, Dong Liangfei said in an interview that his father Dong Biwu was more strict with his brothers and sisters, but he was very fond of him, perhaps because he was the youngest son, no matter how he made a fuss at home when he was a child, his father was mostly gentle with him, and it is for this reason that Dong Liangwu has a very deep affection for his father since childhood.
