"As a filmmaker, there is a lot of pressure to shoot driving scenes.
The perspective you use makes me seem simple, but as a filmmaker, I know there are too many things to think about.
There's a lot of meaningful dialogue or silence in [Driving My Car], and they take place in the car for a long time, and I really want to know how you went about filming these scenes.
Because in general, people will put the vehicle on a trailer (to shoot), some of the shooting equipment will be placed in the car, and then the director will sit in another car and follow, using a walkie-talkie to communicate with the shooting vehicle.
Sometimes the director would sit somewhere in the shooting vehicle, and I couldn't sit in it anyway.
I used computer effects directly in [Parasite], and in my movies, the driving scenes are filmed like this, and the car is actually not moving.

When I started working on the screenplay, I was only good at touching on the point I wanted to make from the writing level, which may be a weakness for me as a filmmaker.
So when I'm writing these conversations, if they're not accompanied by movement, it loses the joy of cinema, and I've had that view since I was studying cinema.
I think initiating a conversation in a moving space, such as in a car, will make the scene more interesting, and even when there is silence, the movement will not stop.
It's also a way to circumvent my weaknesses, so I tend to write dialogue that basically only applies to speaking in the car.
I personally don't drive, and usually I want to make sure that the person driving it doesn't get sleepy, so I keep talking, maybe this is the original origin of my in-car dialogue. ”
