In May 2021, the Xiangyang Anti-Narcotics Detachment received a tip from the Yunnan police that a package sent from Yunnan to a courier point in Huanglong Town, Xiangzhou District, Xiangyang, was suspected of containing a large amount of drugs. After receiving the clue, the Xiangyang police quickly set up a special case team composed of the anti-drug detachment of the Xiangyang Municipal Public Security Bureau and the anti-drug brigade of the Xiangzhou District Public Security Bureau to investigate and control the main suspect, Xia Mou.
On May 29, the police handling the case found that Xia and another suspect, Qu Mou, were driving from Wuhan to Xiangyang together. In order to "fight the situation", the police did not act immediately and decided to monitor Xia 24 hours a day.
According to the police handling the case, after arriving in Xiangyang, Xia mou stepped on the point near the express delivery point, and then stayed in a nearby hotel and waited for the next day for the express delivery point to open.
At 6 o'clock in the morning of the next day, the police deployed control in advance and arranged for a police officer to ambush the disguised staff in the express delivery point, and at 6:30, the police found Qu crouching on the road opposite the express delivery point, and was observing the situation at the express delivery point from a distance. Until an hour later, an electric tricycle came to the door of the courier point, took the suspicious package, and drove in the direction of Gengji.
The police immediately followed, and found that Xia Mou also appeared near the tricycle. Seeing the situation, the crouching police immediately carried out arrests, arrested Qu at the scene, and Xia drove a white Toyota overbearing car to crash into the police and fled. Subsequently, the police seized 9,066.89 grams of the drug Magu from the controlled tricycle.
After Xia fled by car, the police immediately tracked the vehicle and finally found the discarded vehicle behind a rural house.

Through investigation, the police obtained the relevant information of Xia, and found that on August 27, there was a remittance in Xia's bank account, through the withdrawal information, on August 29, the police came to the place of withdrawal and determined that the withdrawing person was Xia.
On the afternoon of September 6, after 12 hours of squatting, the police of the special case team arrested Xia in Wuchang District of Wuhan City.
Xia is not a first-time offender, as early as 2018, Xia was caught by the local police in Xishuangbanna for illegal drug possession, and after his release in 2020, Xia returned to Zaoyang, Hubei Province, and resumed his "old business" and engaged in drug trafficking activities in Xiangyang and Wuhan.
Because of the long time of drug activities, Xia Mou thought of a way to hide drugs by mail.
In early May 2021, Xia contacted Qu to come to Zaoyang and handed over 310,000 yuan in cash to Qu, asking Qu to go to Jinghong in Xishuangbanna with cash to buy drugs. On May 8, Qu placed the cash in the designated position according to Xia's request, and then returned to Wuhan. On May 17, Xia contacted Han again, informing Han that drugs needed to be mailed personally, so that Han would fly to Jinghong to prepare first, until the early morning of May 24, Xia and Qu and Wang drove to Jinghong together, and on the afternoon of the 24th, Xia and Han found a courier store in Sanxiang, Menghan Town, Jinghong City, and sent the drugs wrapped in beef jerky, and then returned to Wuhan separately.
The "5.27" drug trafficking case was listed as a case listed by the Ministry of Public Security for supervision, and it was the largest drug-related case cracked in Xiangyang City in the "100-day Anti-Drug Offensive Action on Delivery Channels"; at present, 6 criminal suspects have been arrested, 9,066.89 grams of drugs have been seized, more than 500,000 yuan of funds involved in the case have been seized, 3 vehicles involved in the case, and hundreds of bank cards have been successfully destroyed, and a criminal gang that sells drugs through postal couriers has been successfully destroyed.
