Wang Dianyuan is a squad leader and a member of the Communist Party of The Fifth Brigade, Jiaodong Military Region, 7th Company, 13th Regiment, 7th Company, 2nd Platoon, and a member of the Communist Party. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, in order to cover the transfer of more than 2,000 people surrounded by the Japanese invading army, Wang Dianyuan led 9 fighters, including Zhao Tingmao, Li Gui, and Wang Wenli, to engage in several hours of fierce struggle with the Japanese puppet army, which was dozens of times larger than himself, and all of them died heroically.
In late November 1942, Okamura Ningji, commander-in-chief of the Japanese invading army in North China, commanded more than 20,000 Japanese puppet troops to carry out an unprecedentedly cruel and dragnet-style "sweep" of the Jiaodong anti-Japanese base area. Thousands of people from Laiyang, Haiyang, Wendeng, Muping, Qixia, Fushan, and other places were also encircled by the enemy's net and besieged in Mashishan and other places.
Wang Dianyuan led the whole class of soldiers to the East Naval Division to carry out a mission, and passed through Mashi Mountain on the way back from the mission. They saw that thousands of people were surrounded by the enemy, most of them women, children and the elderly, and decided to stay and lead the villagers to break through. Wang Dianyuan firmly said to everyone: "Rest assured, dear fathers and fellow countrymen, we are the people's children and soldiers, the revolutionary fighters taught by the Communist Party and Chairman Mao, and we will definitely take you out when we live and die with the villagers!" In the darkness of the night, they took advantage of the line that had been reconnoitred in advance and led thousands of people out of the encirclement in several batches.
When it was getting dark, the warriors returned again, ready to rescue the villagers trapped in front of Mashi Mountain. When escorting the last group of people to break through, they were discovered by the enemy, and the enemy's machine guns and rifles were fired at the crowd of people who broke through. As soon as Wang Dianyuan saw that the situation was critical, he immediately shouted to his comrades-in-arms: "Machine guns attract enemy fire, and the others come with me to resolutely resist the enemy!"
Just as the masses were breaking through, Wang Dianyuan resolutely ordered the whole class of soldiers: "Comrades, contain the enemy and lead the devils to the mountain!" After attracting the enemy's fire, the warriors retreated while fighting and went up to the main peak of Mashi Mountain. Under the cover of the fighters, most of the crowd highlighted the enemy's encirclement, and Wang Dianyuan and 9 fighters fell into a heavy siege.
On the main peak of Mashi Mountain in the morning light, the six squads of fighters, with the heroism of overwhelming all enemies, with favorable terrain, fought with dozens of enemies who were more than themselves for more than 5 hours, resisted several bombing bombardments by enemy planes, repelled the enemy's charge again and again, the bullets ran out, they used bayonets to fight and stone smash, and launched a short white-knife battle with the enemy, killing seventy or eighty ghost soldiers, and in the end only the seriously wounded Communist Party member, the squad leader Wang Dianyuan, and two other soldiers who were also seriously wounded were left. And the last two grenades. Just as the Japanese army once again rushed to the position, Wang Dianyuan threw a grenade at the enemy group with all his strength, and the other was killed with the enemy who rushed to the front.
After the battle, the villagers came to the main peak where the martyrs fought bloodily, found the remains of Wang Dianyuan, Zhao Tingmao, Li Gui, Wang Wenli and other ten warriors, buried them near the flat-topped pine on the top of the mountain, and erected a monument to the ten warriors. As a group of heroes, the "Ten Warriors of Mashishan Mountain" will always live in the hearts of the Chinese people.
