1. Zhang Yanshou resigned
Zhang Anshi's fiefdom was in Chenliu, and there were also fiefs in Wei County, with an annual income of more than 10 million. After Zhang Anshi's death, Emperor Xuan of Han ordered Zhang Anshi's son Zhang Yanshou to succeed him as Marquis. After Zhang Yanshou inherited the Marquis, he felt that he had not made much merit, nor did he have much noble morality, that he was not able to enjoy such a large fief, that he did not have the blessing to enjoy such a rich income, and that he wrote to request that the fief be reduced. At the same time, he also asked him to pass on to his uncle's younger brother Zhang Pengzu, the Marquis of Yangdu, to show Emperor Xuan of Han his sincerity in wanting to reduce his fiefdom.
Emperor Xuan of Han was deeply moved, believing that Zhang Yanshou had the virtue of humility, so he ordered Zhang Yanshou to be renamed pingyuan County, merging his two fiefs into one. In the face of Zhang Yanshou's request to reduce his fiefdom, Emperor Xuan of Han thought of a way to get the best of both worlds—the number of household registrations in the fiefdom would remain unchanged and the tax would be halved—in this way, which would satisfy Zhang Yanshou's humble heart and reflect Emperor Xuan's concern for his former subjects.
After Zhang Yanshou's death, he was honored as the Marquis of Ai.
Second, Zhang Bo knows people
Zhang Yanshou's son Zhang Bo succeeded to the marquisate, served as an official in the imperial court, and served as a general in the imperial court. After Emperor Yuan of Han succeeded to the throne, he ordered the princes to recommend talents, and Zhang Bo recommended Chen Tang. Later, because Chen Tang did something wrong and broke the law, Zhang Bo, as the recommender, was jointly and severally liable and was stripped of the fiefdom of 200 households. It happened that Zhang Bo died at this time, and he was given the title of Marquis of Miao by Emperor Yuan of Han.
Later, Chen Tang made great achievements in the Western Regions, and the people of the world knew at this time that Zhang Bo had the wisdom of knowing people.

Third, Zhang Lin is humble and thrifty
After Zhang Bo's death, his son Zhang Lin succeeded to the title. Zhang Lin also has very good moral character - humility and frugality. Whenever Zhang Lin ascended the steps of the court, he often sighed: "Sang Hongyang and Huo Yu, I should take it deeply!" (Huo Yu, huo guang's son.) Sang Hongyang and Huo Yu were both highly powerful, but they were also exterminated for treason. This is his humility.
When Zhang Lin was dying, he divided his family property among the people of the clan and his old friends, and at the same time made a will, not to let him be buried thickly, but only to bury thinly, and also did not let his descendants give him a grave. It was his frugality.
Starting from Zhang Anshi, because the Zhang family inherited the marquis for generations, and all the generations had praised good qualities, because the Zhang family was famous, Zhang Chun also married the sister of the Han Yuan Emperor, Princess Jingwu. This was a remarkable thing at that time, and the Zhang family suddenly climbed the dragon and attached the phoenix, becoming a relative of the emperor and the state.
4. Disclosure
The three generations after Zhang Anshi, under the influence of Zhang Anshi, have admirable and beautiful character, and it is precisely because of this that the spell of "three generations of wealth" has been broken, from Zhang Anshi to Zhang Chun, the four generations of the Zhang family can always maintain wealth and nobility, especially when Zhang Lin, he also took the princess as his wife, and the Zhang family can be described as a flourish. It can be seen that Zhang Anshi, as an example, influenced his descendants through his many excellent qualities that have been handed down to the world and taught by example.
When Emperor Xuan of Han accepted Wei Xiang's suggestion to appoint Zhang Anshi as a general, Zhang Anshi resolutely resigned, saying that he was incompetent, and finally, at Zhang Anshi's insistence, Emperor Xuan of Han appointed Zhang Anshi as a general on the horse of Sima Che and a consul of Shangshu shi; later Zhang Anshi felt that he and his son had become high officials, and in order to avoid unnecessary trouble and for self-preservation, he first asked Emperor Xuan of Han to let his son go out to be an official, and later resigned the whole family. ——These two events deeply affected Zhang Yanshou, which made Zhang Yanshou make a resignation move.
Zhang Anshi recommended talents for the country, and the recommended person wanted to visit and thank him, but Zhang Anshi thought that this was a private trade with the quota of state officials, categorically refused, and broke off relations with him; some people complained to Zhang Anshi that he had worked hard and worked hard and could not be promoted for a long time, Zhang Anshi did not say verbally, but secretly conducted an investigation, and found that this person was indeed as he said, and soon after, this person was promoted. These two events also affected his grandson Zhang Bo, so that Zhang Bo had the wisdom of people.
When Zhang Anshi first came to work in Shangshu Province, he was cautious everywhere, even if he did not go out to play on rest days; and because he was loyal and honest, he was made a marquis and became Huo Guang's deputy, and from then on his life was like an opening and hanging, and he soared; when Huo Guang's son Huo Yu was exterminated for rebellion, because Zhang Anshi's granddaughter married the Huo family, he became emaciated, and finally won the amnesty of Emperor Xuan of Han with his own caution, it was his granddaughter who was spared death, and he himself was also disassociated from the Huo family and was not implicated; although he was in a high position of power, The family is hot, but Zhang Anshi is not moved, and still lives a simple life. ——The above four events had a profound impact on his great-grandson Zhang Lin, so that Zhang Lin was both humble and frugal, and with the credit accumulated by the Zhang family over the years, he finally married a princess, which was extremely prosperous.
