On May 27, a reporter from China Securities News learned from Wingtech Technology that recently, Nexperia, a subsidiary of Wingtech Technology, announced that its second-generation 650 V power GaN FET device series began to be supplied in batches. The new GaN FET product launched this time is another masterpiece of Nexperia's efforts to promote the development and application of GaN process technology in the Chinese market in the third-generation semiconductor market.

According to the 2020 annual report, Wingtech Technology has invested heavily in the third-generation semiconductor technology, with a total investment of 650 million yuan in semiconductor research and development business in 2020, and it is expected that the investment in semiconductor research and development will reach 890 million yuan in 2021, significantly strengthening the research and development investment in medium and high voltage MOSFETs, compound semiconductor SiC and GaN products and analog products, and will continue to expand production capacity and R&D related equipment investment.

It is reported that Wingtech Technology has made frequent moves in the field of third-generation semiconductors this year. Earlier this year, Wingtech Technology led the investment in basic semiconductors, enabling the third-generation semiconductor industry leader to complete hundreds of millions of yuan of Series B financing. In March this year, Nexperia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wingtech Technology, announced that it has launched in-depth cooperation with United Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in the domestic automotive industry, in the field of power semiconductor gallium nitride (GaN) to meet the continuous improvement of technical demand for new energy vehicle power systems in the future, and jointly strive to promote the research and development and application of GaN process technology in the Chinese automotive market. The new GaN FET product launched this time is another masterpiece of Nexperia's efforts to promote the development and application of GaN process technology in the Chinese market in the third-generation semiconductor market. With the deepening of Wingtech Nexperia synergy, nexperia is expected to open up a broad market space for more fields in the future.

In recent years, Nexperia has developed rapidly. According to the data, Nexperia's ranking among global power discrete device companies has risen from 11th in 2019 to 9th in 2020, continuing to rank first in the list of China's power discrete device companies.
