It can be said that this is the only person among the founding marshals and more than a thousand generals who has this ability.
In September 1955, Song Renqian was awarded the rank of general, and Su Yu said:
"Among our generals, some can teach, some can strike iron, some can be tailors, and some can play with snakes, Song Renqian is, and he is the only one!"
So how did General Song Renqian learn this skill, come and go freely in the layers of the Kuomintang, and finally how did he find the Red Fourth Army?

On July 11, 1909, Song Renqian was born in Wushi'an Village, Gejiayuan, Liuyang County, Hunan Province, to a family of broken landlords, and attended private schools and primary schools at an early age.
He joined the Communist Youth League of China in June 1926 and transferred to the Communist Party of China in December of the same year.
In 1955, Song Renqiang was awarded the rank of general and was awarded the Order of August 1st Class, the Order of Independence and Freedom of the First Class, and the Liberation Medal of the First Class.

On April 15, 1927, the Kuomintang reactionaries carried out a counter-revolutionary massacre in Guangzhou, and the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party was completely destroyed.
In September 1927, after the reorganization of Sanwan, Song Renqiang followed Mao Zedong to Jinggangshan and served as a representative of the Lian party, actively carrying out political and ideological work and developing party members in the Red Army.
In the winter of 1928, the Kuomintang surrounded and suppressed the Jinggangshan revolutionary base area with heavy troops.
In order to open up new base areas, according to the study and decision of the Former Committee of the Red Fourth Army, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Chen Yi, and others led the main force of the Red Fourth Army of more than 3,000 people to march to gannan and western Fujian.
Peng Dehuai and Teng Daiyuan led more than 1,000 people from the Red Fifth Army and the 32nd Regiment of the Red Fourth Army to remain at Jinggangshan.
When the cunning enemy detected the actual strength of Jinggangshan, he immediately gathered 10 regiments of troops to clear and suppress Jinggangshan.
Soon, Huang Yangjie and other sentries were lost one after another, and only the Xiazhuang sentry that Song Renqiang was responsible for was still under control.
In a hurry, Peng Dehuai quickly made a decision to evacuate Jinggangshan, and temporarily formed a special agent company of Hunan soldiers into a special agent company -- the Special Agent Company of the Fifth Red Army, with Song Renqiang as the company commander, serving as a rear guard during the march to intercept the enemy's pursuit.
Because the enemy's fire was too fierce, the large troops and the company of secret agents were soon scattered.
In order to catch up with the large troops as soon as possible, Song Renqiang led the soldiers of the special service company to travel day and night, did not eat a decent meal, and were hungry and dizzy.
In the early hours of one day, just after reaching a mountain pass, I saw that there were many Kuomintang soldiers in front of me, and before they could cover up, they were detected by the enemy.
The Kuomintang thought that it was the main force of the Red Army, so several pairs of men and horses went up together, the light and heavy weapons were in full swing, and the soldiers of the special agent company who were hungry and cold could not be overwhelmed, and the casualties were very heavy, and finally only Song Renqian, Kang Jian, and a director surnamed Su were left.
The enemy tightened its encirclement, and the three of them could not take care of the cold of early spring, and jumped into the small river next to them, drifting downstream along the rushing river, which escaped the disaster.

Just after Song Renqian and his party drifted downstream, they quickly climbed onto the shore and quietly entered a small village called Shizhou along the small riverbank.
Hearing their accents and seeing their soaking wet clothes, the villagers guessed that they were the Red Army that had come down from Jinggang Mountain, and enthusiastically invited them to the house, changed into clean clothes, and ate several bowls of steaming rice.
Seeing the millet plus rifles they were carrying, the villagers quickly hid them in the cellar behind the house, because there were often Kuomintang clearance teams here to investigate.
After staying for two days, the qingxiang team came again, and the villagers hated the Kuomintang army and their Qingxiang team, but they could not resist, and could only let Song Renqiang and them quickly move.
As soon as they went out, they encountered the enemy, the Qingxiang team shot at them fiercely, Song Renqian led Kang Jian and the secretary general to quickly dodge, in a hurry, Song Renqian ran up the mountain, while Kang Jian and the secretary surnamed Su jumped down the ravine.
Later, after Song Renqian came down from the mountain, he never returned to Shizhou Village for fear of affecting the villagers, and on the way to continue to chase the large troops, Song Renqian encountered the injured Kang Jian, but the secretary general never saw him again.

Song Renqian and Kang Jian were hungry and cold on the way to find the main force, the snow water soaked their clothes, and when it was almost dark, the two found a shed where firewood was stacked and wanted to make a fire to keep warm, but the matches they had brought with them had run out, so the two people had to lean closely and sit and sleep for one night.
Early the next morning, the two continued to rush, at this time Kang Jian was infected by frostbite, and the pain was unbearable, so Song Renqiang had to carry Kang Jian on his back.
Along the way, from time to time, I would encounter the Kuomintang army, and of course, I also met well-meaning villagers.
Just after they crossed a big mountain, they saw a family that married a daughter, and after eating a full meal, the host family gave them two sets of clothes to change into, so as not to catch a cold on the road, song Renqiang was grateful for this.
However, the good times did not last long, Kang Jian's frostbite was getting worse and worse, in order to treat Kang Jian, Song Ren spent the only few oceans on his body, and eating and living became a problem.
Out of both the status quo and safety considerations, Song Renqian and Kang Jian found broken bamboo poles, old bamboo baskets, and two larger bowls, and decided to use begging as a cover to continue looking for the main force.
When they walked all the way to the town of Shangyou, they met real beggars, and the beggars who asked for food here paid attention to gangs, and it was difficult for no gangs and no factions to get food, and even face beatings.
There was no way, Song Renqian could only call the beggar gang leader a big brother, and according to the gang rules, he also worshiped the beggar gang leader as a teacher, which was exchanged for a few days of peace.
When they heard that there had just been a battle in the Ganzhou area, they were ready to get up and go to Ganzhou to see if they could find a large army, but what they said to the helper was to see Kang Jian.
The helper is also a person in the jianghu, more moralistic, thinking that they really want to see a doctor, and no longer retain, but also introduced them to Ganzhou's gang friends, so that they have a care for Song Renqian and Kang Jian.

But as early as Shizhou Village, the coils on the two people had been used up, and the two penniless people earned some money by doing odd jobs, grabbed some Chinese medicine, and drank Chinese medicine several times, and Kang's condition did not improve, but became more serious.
One night a few days later, Song Renqiang heard Kang Jian humming a few times, so he hurriedly opened his mouth to call him, shouted a few times and did not respond, and probed his nose, at this time Kang Jian had no breath.
Suffering the loss of his comrades-in-arms, Song Renqian was sad, but fortunately, the Gang of Servants in Ganzhou helped bury Kang Jian, which made Song Renqian feel better.

When he walked all the way to Wanzai County as a beggar, he met two artists who played with snakes, although Song Renqian was also afraid of snakes, but if he could learn the skill of playing snakes, double cover would be more secure.
Therefore, Song Renqian tentatively asked the snake trickster if he could let him learn the craft and eat with his mouth, but he didn't think that they would happily agree to it, because they just lacked a helper.
In this way, Song Renqian studied with the snake artist for several days.
When bathing the snake on the first day, because of the ignorance of snakes, he was also bitten by the snake, because the snakes that were played were generally non-venomous snakes, but there was a small lump, the master gave some medicine, the swelling quickly disappeared, and the wound healed in a few days.
Not long after, Song Renqiang became familiar with the snake's disposition, and played with the snake more tacitly, many times, the little snake was well-behaved and obedient in his hands, and the two snake masters were amazed, to know that they had learned this craft for more than half a year.
Song Renqian knew that he could not spend all the time in Wanzai County, and after a few days, he used the excuse that his family had an affair, and when he left, although he did not get a penny, the snake master still gave Song Renqiang a snake as a souvenir.
Before leaving Wanzai County, Song Renqiang was stopped by the local joint defense team, although Song Renqiang was poorly dressed in rags, but the people of the joint defense team insisted that he came down from Jinggangshan.
Song Renqian angrily took the snake out of the baggage and played with it, and the villagers cheered one after another, and some people took the initiative to give some money.
Seeing that the joint defense team was indifferent and had no intention of letting go, Song Renqian threw the snake at them, good guy, several people in the joint defense team were scared and crawled with rolling belts, and finally let Song Renqiang pass the checkpoint.
Since then, on the way back to Liuyang, many times because of this snake, Song Renqian not only maintained his life, but also successfully passed through the layers of checkpoints and returned to his hometown in Liuyang.

There are only three brothers left in the family, and Song Renqiang told the third brother that he honestly became a farmer for a lifetime, and the revenge of the eldest brother and the second brother will be repaid for them.
Before leaving, the third brother gave him twenty pieces of ocean, and Qian Dingwan told him to pay attention to safety, and Song Ren was poor in Liuyang, passing through Changsha and Shaoguan, preparing to go all the way to Guangzhou.
Yin and yang, Song Renqian encountered the Kuomintang recruiting in the middle of the road, so he went to enlist in the army, saw the tall Song Renqian, the Kuomintang recruitment office was very satisfied, simply asked for his name and family, and took him to change his military uniform.
After several days of training, the Kuomintang moved to the Wuchang garrison via Changsha and then set out by boat to Nanchang to prepare to encircle and suppress the new revolutionary base area of the Red Army.
Soon, Song Renqian became a member of the Red Army as a Kuomintang soldier, and here were the men of the Third Column of the Red Fourth Army, officially the troops that Song Renqian had fought in the early days.

After saying this, he took a dozen new Recruits of the Kuomintang and walked toward the Red Army.

Song Renqiang replied, "The one who surrendered the gun." ”
After saying that, he led everyone to hand over their guns and bullets.
Song Ren's poor gun unit was the Thirty-first Regiment of the Red Fourth Army.
As soon as Song Renqiang looked up, he saw that it was his old comrade-in-arms Gao Zili who was speaking to the Red Army not far away, and immediately shouted happily: "Gao Zili!" ”
Gao Zili saw That Song Renqian was wearing an enemy uniform, and did not recognize it for a while.
Song Renqian immediately said, "Oh, you don't remember, I'm Song Renqian!" ”
Gao Zili was greatly surprised: "Dude, how did you do it?" ”
Next, Song Renqiang reported what had happened after coming down from Jinggang Mountain.
The old comrades-in-arms also told Song Renqian about the situation of the Red Fourth Army in Gannan and Western Fujian, led by Mao Zedong and Zhu De, after the Red Fourth Army came down from the mountain, as well as the Gutian Conference, and several old comrades-in-arms did not sleep all night and chatted for a whole night.
Later, these rebellious Kuomintang recruits all joined the Red Army, which made the Red Fourth Army add a new batch of strength.
Song Renqian's experience was examined by special personnel sent by the organization, the truth had been clarified, and the facts were in line with what he reported, and he soon restored his party membership and was transferred to the 104th Regiment of the Red 35th Division as a political commissar, and the head of the regiment was Su Yu, the founding general.
