Among the founding generals, some left the army to take up local work in the construction of new China, like Song Ren, who was poor general.
Before the award of the title in 1955, Song Renqiang served as the deputy director of the General Cadre Department and was responsible for the awarding of military titles.

In November 1956, he was transferred out of the army and was put in charge of the atomic energy industry by Chairman Mao, serving as the head of the Second Machine Department. During his four years in office, he laid a good foundation for the nuclear industry.
In 1960, he was entrusted with a heavy responsibility by the Central Committee, serving as the first secretary of the Northeast Bureau and becoming the feudal governor of the ruling side. New China's heavy industry is in the northeast, and letting him hold this position is enough to show the trust in his ability.
In the past 7 years of working in the northeast, he has stabilized industrial development and attached importance to agricultural development. During the three years of difficulty, we vigorously supported the whole country.
In the special movement, he was also subjected to the "Left" ideology, and he did not properly criticize some comrades, who considered himself to bear the main responsibility. Even in the movement, support one faction and suppress one faction. After his problems escalated, he ceased the work of the Northeast Bureau in August 1967. What he did not expect was that he was beaten into the "number one bourgeoisie in the northeast".
He was successively protected at the Jingxi Hotel and the Shipping Warehouse Guest House. In October 1969, he was notified to leave the shipping warehouse and was sent to work on farms in the Panjin area, mainly to feed pigs.
In 1973, after working quietly in the countryside for many years, due to illness, he wrote a letter to Premier Zhou and Deng Xiaoping, hoping to return to Beijing for medical treatment, and got permission. After waiting and stabilizing a little, he was called back to the farm by some people. Until the eve of the National Day in 1974, he was invited back to Beijing again to attend the reception.
Being able to attend the reception was enough to show that he was "liberated" and could resume his work. However, his historical conclusions have not been rehabilitated, and he has not been assigned to work. He asked the old chief Deng Xiaoping for help, and the other party also said that there was nothing he could do.
In this way, Song Renqian has been distressed by not having a job, and the first wait is 3 years. By 1977, he had not worked for 10 years and was proposed by Zhang Aiping, director of the National Defense Science and Technology Commission, to assign his work. The principal leaders believe that his historical problems have not been completely solved and it is better not to work.
Zhang Aiping said that his problem was repeatedly investigated, and did not he not find out the problem. After careful consideration by the central authorities, he served as the director of the Seventh Machine Department in accordance with Zhang Aiping's opinion.
After Song Renqian learned that he had a job, he was also excited in his heart. However, he hesitated, his historical problems were not completely rehabilitated, and it was inappropriate for him to work in such a confidential unit as the Seventh Machine Department. He wants the organization to rehabilitate his problems and then come out to work again. But the old comrades-in-arms around me said that they would work first, and that historical issues would be discussed later.
In this way, Song Ren was poor and served in the Seven Machines Department for 1 year and 2 months. After Hu Yaobang was transferred, song was appointed as the head of the poor organization. For the work of the Organization Department, Song Renqian is familiar with it. In the fifties, he served as Deputy Director of the Organization Department.
The organization department he took over had heavy responsibilities, and the main work at present is to rectify unjust, false and wrongly decided cases and implement the cadre policy.
The Organization Department took over the case of the special case team and rehabilitated more than 400 cadres at or above the provincial and ministerial levels in one year. After more than three years of hard work, under his leadership, 2.3 million rehabilitated cadres have been rehabilitated, which has had a far-reaching impact at home and abroad.
In addition to rectifying unjust cases, he also has an important task, that is, the issue of training and selecting successors, so that cadres will become younger, more knowledgeable, more professional, and more revolutionary.
In 1983, after the completion of his historical mission, he voluntarily applied to take a back seat.
