Song Renqian, formerly known as Song Yunqin, was born in July 1909 in Wushi'an Village, Liuyang County, Hunan Province. He joined the Communist Youth League of China in June 1926 and joined the Communist Party of China in December 1926. During the Red Army period, he served as the political commissar of the cadre regiment of the Central Column, the commander of the Twenty-eighth Army, and the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the Western Aid Army. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as deputy director of the Political Training Office and deputy director of the Political Department of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, commander and acting political commissar of the Plains Military Region, and director and acting secretary of the Organization Department of the Plains Branch. During the Liberation War, he served as deputy director of the Political Department of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region, political commissar of the Second Column of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Field Army, director of the Organization Department of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Central Bureau, secretary of the Central Bureau of the Yuwan-Anhui Soviet Military Region, political commissar of the Yuwan-Anhui Soviet Military Region, member of the Central Plains Bureau, and third deputy political commissar of the East China Field Army.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the second secretary of the Northeast Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the political commissar of the Shenyang Military Region, the director of the Central Organization Department of the Third Ministry of Machinery Industry (later changed to the Second Ministry of Machinery Industry), and a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and was awarded the rank of general in 1955. He died in January 2005.

Song Renqiang's wife was Zhong Yuelin, who was born in 1915 in Yudu, Jiangxi. She became a child bride at the age of eight, went to the revolution at the age of 16, and later accompanied the Long March of the Central Red Army. They were married on December 12, 1935, in The Wa Yao Fort. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as a confidential secretary of the Northeast Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and died on August 3, 2009. They have a total of eight children.

First, the eldest son Song Kehuang

Song Kehuang, born in March 1945, graduated from a middle school in Beijing in 1965, was admitted to Tsinghua University, and after graduating from university in 1970, he became a research intern at the Beijing Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was the director of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and from 1992 to 2005, he was the general manager of Shangdi Real Estate Company, retiring in 2005. In 2010, he was appointed as the chairman of the Old District Fund of the China Association for Poverty Alleviation and Development.

Song Jingbo, who studied primary school in Shenyang, graduated from the Department of Physics of Xiamen University in 1976 and studied in France, and worked in the Institute of Telecommunications Science of the Ministry of Telecommunications after returning to China. Song Qin was born in September 1940 in Zuoquan County, Shanxi. Fourth, the second daughter Song Binbin

Song Binbin, born in 1947, studied at the Beijing Normal University Girls' High School, later studied in the United States, and after getting a doctorate from MIT, she entered the Massachusetts government and engaged in air quality assessment work in the state Environmental Protection Bureau.
