The emperor standing on the cusp of the storm- the Khitan hero - Liao Taizu

Liao Taizu Abaoji (872-926) Yelü clan, Han name Yi, was the founder of the Liao Dynasty. Born into the Khitan nobility, he was promoted to khan in 901 and promoted to khan in 907, unifying the eight khitan tribes and controlling the neighboring Xi and Jurchen tribes. He took the advice of the Han scholars, overthrew the system of electing khans, and in 916 established himself as emperor, with the name of Khitan and the Jianyuan Divine Register, and the capital Linhuang (present-day BalinZuo Banner in Inner Mongolia). During his reign, he reformed customs, built castles, developed agricultural merchants, and created Khitan scripts and codified legal codes. He also successively captured Ying, Pingping Prefecture and Bohai Sea. It played a major role in the advancement and historical development of the Khitan feudalization process.
