Shi Jingcun's "Hundred Words of Tang Poems"
Among the vast number of Tang poetry appreciation books, Mr. Shi Jingcun's "Hundred Words of Tang Poetry" is what I like very much.
The writer's smooth and beautiful brushstrokes, easy and meticulous interpretation of beautiful Tang poems, ancient cultural common sense, poetry and grammar knowledge, allusions and interesting things, Mr. Shi picked it up and told it with his bare hands.
Reading, as if sitting across from the teacher, listening to the teachings.
And what I like very much is a short story written by Mr. Shi in 1933, "Chunyang", which writes that a middle-aged kunshan rich woman and aunt cicada went to a bank in Shanghai to collect interest on deposits on a sunny spring.
Under the blazing spring sun, Aunt Cicada remembered that when her fiancé died, she held the tablet and married into the rich husband's family, and then lived a lonely and miserable life for decades.
Aunt Cicada deposited a huge amount of money in the Bank of Shanghai, which she exchanged for the price of youth.
Every month, Aunt Cicada will come to Shanghai once to receive interest.
"Spring Sun" is written about the psychological activities of Aunt Cicada throughout, but it is not obscure to read at all. I remember that when I was in my twenties, I finished reading the novel in one breath, and in my mind was the gentle sigh of Aunt Cicada, and the heart of the slight ripple was flooded.
I couldn't help but sigh softly.
The reason why I remember the feeling of reading "Chunyang" in those years is that I recently read a past story about Mr. Shi Jiecun in Mr. Huang Yun's "Antique and Strange Fragrance".
The story begins with a "Five Impressions of Literati" by Li Dasheng in the thirty-fifth issue of the Ten Days' Talk, which records the impressions of Li Qingya, Zhang Ziping, Wang Fuquan, Shi Jingcun and Shen Congwen. The impression of Shi Jingcun is as follows:

Mr. Shi Jingcun, but about 30 years old, hung a pair of glasses, quite a beautiful face; when I took my first lesson in Chinese, full of shock and attention, it seemed that I knew that he was an unworldly professor. The Chinese textbook issued in the school is a loose-leaf anthology bound by the Enlightened Bookstore, and the first lesson is the non-twelve sons (according to the "Xunzi" article - the introducer), so that Mr. Shi read it again, and read it again, I thought Mr. Shi was going to teach! After about 20 minutes, Mr. Shi said with embarrassment: "Alas! This kind of article is quite difficult to understand, wait for me to go back to prepare, and then start teaching it next time! ”
When he finished speaking, he left the class in a hurry. After two days, Mr. Shi's resignation notice has been hung in the mirror box on the pink wall, and I heard that it was because Mr. Shi asked the school to choose another textbook, and the school did not allow it, so he resigned and left! In the future, I did not have the opportunity to see Mr. Shi again, but since the publication of "Modern" edited by Mr. Shi, I seem to have a considerable interest. Why did Mr. Shi teach a lesson to the head-on blow of the twelve sons and resign? Until Mr. Shi explained the reason, I still believe that Mr. Shi did not have a deep study of old literature.

The thirty-fifth issue of "Ten Days' Talk" was published in 1934, when Mr. Shi was thirty years old, and his learning had not reached the level of pure fire, which was normal.
But there must be an exaggerated element in Li Dasheng's light-hearted ridicule, which one is a professor, and it is not good to prepare for class before class? Go to the podium and look at the handout and say I won't? It's incredible!
And Li Dasheng said that after seeing the publication of "Modern", the time was not right, Shi Jicun began to edit the large literary monthly magazine "Modern", in 1932, Mr. Shi was twenty-eight years old. It is not the same time as Li Dasheng said that Mr. Li was in his thirties when he was a professor, and then he edited the monthly magazine "Modern", which is inconsistent in time, and at most it is about the same time, right?
Sometimes people's memories will inevitably have some small deviations.

In the face of such a slightly embarrassing ridicule, the young and vigorous Shi Jingcun did not choose silence, and he fought back in the thirty-seventh issue of the "Ten Days Talk".

Today, when I saw the 35th issue of your magazine, it was a great honor for a Mr. Li Dasheng to have written an "impression" of me in the column of "The Tiger Record of Literary Circles". Just after reading it, I felt that what Mr. Li remembered did not seem to be an "impression", but probably an "illusion", so I tried to say it in the book.
This Mr. Li "determined" from his so-called "impression" that "I" did not have a profound study of old literature, so he had to record this "impression" to testify. In fact, this is unnecessary, and naturally I have never "determined" that I have any profound research into cosmic literature. Now I can prove for myself that his "identification" is good. However, with regard to the "impression" he remembered, I have good reason to prove that it is completely absent from this. First, the so-called "professor", as of today, I have only been doing it for one week (actually only three days). During this week, I took a class of Mandarin, which was good. However, in this Chinese language class, I remember that I quit the class because I had not yet given a lecture note, so I said some empty words. From the story recorded by Mr. Li, I think that your editor must be able to see a flaw, and discover that this story is true. Is there a professor in the world who attends the first Class of Chinese Languages and has to go to the lecture hall to see the lecture notes issued by the school? If he finds it quite difficult to understand, why shouldn't he prepare for the class?
Mr. Huang Yun believes that Shi Jian's "statement" is full of sarcasm between the lines, and it is a manifestation of no grace and small instruments.
Indeed, Mr. Shi's explanation is not only useless for defending himself, but also provides more ammunition and targets for the opponent.
Sure enough, Li Dasheng's disobedience was not spared, and he wrote a long treatise and published it in the fortieth issue of the "Ten Days Talk", and I patiently read the entire text, thinking that Mr. Shi was also unlucky when he met such a harsh and gracious person.
Many years later, Mr. Shi, who was beaten into a rightist faction and had to live in a sting, will definitely laugh at the impulse of his youth when he thinks about this matter, right? Some people have some things that they don't have to pay attention to.
Who is Li Dasheng? What happened after that? unknown. Mr. Shi, on the other hand, has always insisted on doing scholarship, studying Tang poetry, and studying inscriptions, and finally became an awe-inspiring scholar with a profound study of old literature.
And, even if you really didn't understand the twelve sons, what was the harm?
I am familiar with and very respectful of the historian Wu Weimin teacher, in 1978 into the East China Normal University Chinese Department of undergraduate, Mr. Shi still insisted on teaching undergraduates, he explained ancient literature in a simple and simple way, patient and meticulous, but also humorous and vivid, left a deep impression on Teacher Wu, the demeanor of a Confucian scholar should be like this, right?
Teacher Wu is also such a Confucian scholar, after graduating from the Chinese Department of East China Normal University, he did research work in the Institute of Ancient Books, and his knowledge was profound. But when we talk about the "History", we are always humble and low-key, and the knowledge that is told makes us fascinated.
This is the master out of the high disciple, right? That's elegance, right?
From his birth in 1905 to his death in 2003, Mr. Shi lived in this world for 99 years, during which the ups and downs and the ups and downs of fate, if there is no broad mind and open-mindedness, it is probably impossible to enjoy such a high life.
Mr. Huang Yun said at the end of the article:
I suddenly remembered my previous similar behavior, and it seemed that it was worth blushing. When there are many immature times in life, do we take face very seriously and lack introspection of the heart? From Shi Jicun's mirror, I saw myself stumbling and walking, and I couldn't help but be secretly shocked.
I was suddenly relieved that Mr. Huang Yun was so harsh on Mr. Shi when he was young, but he just remembered himself when he was young, and he blushed and blamed himself for his youth.
