On May 24, 1940, most of the cadres of the Licheng District Bureau went to the county for a meeting, and the two platoons of the special agent company temporarily went out for 20 miles to carry out their tasks, and Ji Changgeng immediately sent people across the river to contact the Standing 10 Brigade, and decided to cross the river that night to sneak attack, only to be caught off guard by the New Fourth Army.
Our office was in the large courtyard of a landlord's house, with a large turret in the center and two small turrets in the east and west. More than 200 warriors opened fire at the same time, killing more than 100 enemies at once. Then he crossed the river in a hurry and fled.

This battle must be won, and the superior gave the order to die! It has a direct bearing on the question of whether or not the Huainan base area can be consolidated and developed. At the same time, this battle was not easy to fight, mainly because there was no offensive weapon at that time- cannons. The open land south of the hard-punched polder will definitely bring great casualties. Time dragged on, the Standing 10th Brigade north of the Three Rivers could cross the river at any time to reinforce, and the Japanese puppet army of Baoying and Gaoyou would also take advantage of the situation to sneak up on me. In this way, the enemy on three sides is in danger of being destroyed by the enemy.
How should this battle be fought? The usual siege tactics, ladders, blasting, and digging tunnels are not used here, and Cheng Jun hesitates for a while. During this period, his superiors informed Cheng Jun that Baoying's Japanese puppet army and Han Deloitte, who was north of the Three Rivers River, had secretly colluded and demanded that Cheng Jun lay down the Jijia Weizi as soon as possible.
