What we want to discuss today is not how many soldiers and horses there are on both sides of the Battle of Yiling, nor who is orthodox in Cao Wei and Shu Han, but the topic we want to talk about is: When Liu Beifa Wu frightened Sun Quan and was helpless, someone offered Cao Cao a plan to destroy Wu Andi Shu, why was it vetoed by Jia Xu and Sima Yi? If Sima Yi did not oppose, could Liu Ye's plan to unite Liu ye to destroy Wu end the chaos in the Three Kingdoms?
Combining the records of the Zizhi Tongjian, the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, and the Book of Jin and the Chronicle of Emperor Xuan, we can reconstruct how fierce the controversy that took place in the Cao Wei court in the second year of the Huang Dynasty.
The three people on both sides of the dispute were Tai Wei and Marquis Jia Xu of WeiShou Township, Shi Zhong, Shang Shu Shu, Sima Yi of An Guo Xiang, and Liu Ye the Marquis of Guannei.
The author once said that Sun Quan was a guy who could cause trouble and could not be peaceful, and it was not long before guan Yu was happy to steal Jingzhou, Liu Bei led 40,000 people to kill him. In the face of the 40,000 Shu Han army on the Laoshi expedition, Sun Quan was actually frightened: "Send an envoy to seek peace with Yu Han." ”
The lord was frightened of the six gods and no master, and the Eastern Wu Heavy Minister also began to play his own small calculations. Zhuge Liang's eldest brother Zhuge Jin was not sent by Sun Quan to seek peace, but wrote a letter to Liu Bei that could be understood: "Your Majesty is a relative of Guan Yu, how can he be the first emperor?" The size of Jingzhou, which is within the sea? Who should be the first to take the disease? If you judge this number, it is easy to backtrack. ”
Zhuge Jin called Liu Xie, the Emperor of Han Xian, the first emperor, tantamount to acknowledging Liu Bei's orthodox status, implying that Liu Bei should have had a first and a second, that is, to destroy Wei first, and then to think about how to deal with Sun Quan.
Zhuge Jin's letter was reported, and Sun Quan also sealed the report letter and sent it to Zhuge Jin: "Orphan and Ziyu can be described as divine friendship, not between foreign words, Zhiqing (referring to Lu Xun, this manpower to protect Zhuge Jin has no second heart) intentions, and sealed it to show Ziyu and make Zhiqingyi. ”

Even if you Cao Pi's imperial conquest is also a white ride, it is still better to lie on your stomach honestly: "Liu Bei has great talent, Zhuge Liang is good at ruling the country, Sun Quan is aware of the truth, Lu Yi (that is, Lu Xun) sees the military posture, the subject steals materials and the subjects, unprepared, the power is right, although the heavenly power is coming, it does not see the momentum of perfection." ”
People are old and horses are slippery, rabbits are old and eagles are difficult to take. The older jia xu became, the more sleek he became, and he didn't want to break his comfortable life anymore -- ranking third duke, an extremely popular subject, and winning a battle would not be good for Jia Xu, and if he lost this lieutenant, he would be responsible.
Cao Pi was silent, and once predicted that Liu Bei would inevitably avenge Guan Yu's death against Wu's servant Liu Ye and the Marquis of Guannei, and put forward a plan to destroy Wu even Liu: "Although it is said that the world is now divided into three parts, but we occupy eight-tenths of the land, Liu Bei Sun Quan is just a small warlord who divides a state, and now they have infighting, which is a good time for us to unify the world." ”
Liu Ye painted a beautiful picture for Cao Pi: "Yi Daxingshi, cross the river to attack it." Shu attacked its outside, I attacked it inside, and Wu's death did not reach the tenth month. If Wu dies, Shu is lonely, if you cut off half of Wu and Shu, Shu can't survive for a long time, and Shu has its outside, I have its inside! ”
According to Liu Ye's analysis, Liu Bei would certainly be willing to join forces with Cao Wei to destroy Wu: "Now that he is angry, he will raise an army to attack Wu, hear that I am cutting down Wu, know that Wu will die, and will march forward with joy to fight with me to cut off Wu's land, and will not change his plan to suppress his anger and save Wu Ye." ”
Liu Ye's plan, to put it bluntly, was to destroy Wu Tired Shu, and Cao Wei sat and reaped the benefits of Bian Zhuang's thorny tiger: even if Liu Bei destroyed the State of Wu, he would also lose most of it, and at this time he could not give him half of the territory. If conditions permit, we can swallow Liu Bei with a single blow.
Liu Ye's analysis was the Tao, and the poison warrior Jia Xu had nothing to say, but Sima Yi, who claimed to be the deepest in the Three Kingdoms City Government, stood up, and he supported Jia Xu and opposed Liu Ye: "We should accept Sun Quan's surrender, because at this time Sun Quan has lost his way, so he has to sincerely surrender (this time when he wants to tie himself), and Sun Quan absolutely does not dare to fool us (he will not dare to be troubled). After reading the argument between Liu Ye and Sima Yi, people can't help but wonder a little: Jia Xu, a refined egoist poisoner, and Sima Yi, the eagle-eyed wolf, suddenly became so righteous and awe-inspiring?
As we said earlier, during the debate, Liu Ye was the Marquis of Shizhong and Guannei, and his opponents, Jia Xu, were taiwei and WeiShouxiang, Sima Yi was Shizhong, Shangshu, and Anguoxiang, and the officials were crushed to death.
So the development of the matter is known to everyone: Cao Pi did not move, verbally promised to support Sun Quan, and gave Sun Quan a reassuring pill, which dared to pull 50,000 main troops to the front line and fight Liu Bei to the death--in fact, Liu Bei's attack on Wu was not a victory, and he also beat Lu Xun with his head: "Wu will Lu Yi, Li Yi, Liu A and other Tun Wu, Zi Gui, generals Wu Ban, Feng Xi Zi Wu attack the difference, and so on." ”
Liu Bei drove Lu Xun away from Zigui and established a command center there, preparing to take Eastern Wu in one fell swoop.

After the Battle of Yiling, Liu Bei was seriously injured, and Sun Quan was also very uncomfortable, and Cao Pi only remembered to take advantage of the fire and robbery, but it was too late: Sun Quan heard that Cao Jun had a change, and immediately asked Liu Bei for peace again and reached a truce agreement, and Cao Pi also lost the best opportunity to destroy Wu.
After recounting the controversy in the Cao Wei court, we should ask the question: with Jia Xu's poisonous gaze and Sima Yi's old scheming, they can't see that Sun Liu's death is a good time to destroy the State of Wu? What is their intention in opposing Lian Liu's annihilation of Wu?
