Beijing, October 25 (Xu Jing) Beijing Customs released statistics on the 25th that in the first three quarters of 2021, the import and export of the Beijing area (including the central units in Beijing) was 2.23 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 28.5% over the same period last year ( the same below), higher than the national import and export growth rate of 5.8 percentage points in the same period. Among them, the import and export of Beijing in September was 277.63 billion yuan, an increase of 31.9%, and the scale of import and export in a single month hit a record high.

From the first to the third quarter of this year, the import and export scale of Beijing showed a quarter-by-quarter growth trend, with 682.5 billion yuan, 745.85 billion yuan and 805.27 billion yuan respectively, reflecting the resilience and rebound of Beijing's foreign trade after the epidemic.

Imports and exports to major trading partners continued to grow. In the first three quarters, the imports and exports of the top five trading partners in the Beijing region, the European Union (excluding the United Kingdom), ASEAN, the United States, Australia, and Saudi Arabia, increased by 13.2%, 29.6%, 78%, 23.4%, and 37.3% respectively. In the same period, the import and export of Beijing to the "Belt and Road" countries was 897.04 billion yuan, an increase of 14.6%, and the import and export of RCEP countries was 501.04 billion yuan, an increase of 23.2%.

Imports of energy products accelerated, while imports of automobiles and related products continued to decline. In the first three quarters, the top five imported commodities in Beijing were crude oil, automobiles, agricultural products, natural gas, iron ore and their concentrates, which increased by 28.7%, 31.1%, 41.8%, 30.5% and 38.7% respectively, and the total value of the five commodities accounted for 68.4% of the total import value of Beijing in the same period. Since August, the import of automobiles and auto parts in Beijing has declined continuously, with imports of automobiles in September 17.26 billion yuan, down 17.2%, and imports falling by 29.3%; imports of auto parts and accessories of 3.09 billion yuan, down 9.9%.

The export of integrated circuits and auto parts hit a record high in a single month, and the export volume of mobile phones fell for three consecutive months. In the first three quarters, the export volume of refined oil, mobile phones, integrated circuits and steel products in Beijing increased by 4.5%, 32.5%, 41.3% and 6.3% respectively. Among them, 6.231 million mobile phones were exported in September, down 15.7%, and the monthly export volume fell for three consecutive months.

The scale of imports and exports in a single month in September hit a record high. In September, the import and export of Beijing was 277.63 billion yuan, an increase of 31.9%, and the scale of import and export in a single month hit a record high. Among them, imports of 219.58 billion yuan, an increase of 25.1%, a single month import scale after August to a new high; exports of 58.05 billion yuan, an increase of 66.3%, a single month export scale ranked the second highest in history.
