Unable to bear the blow of her husband's death, the wife's sad heart was really "broken" after the incident

Wuhan Evening News, August 25 (reporter Wu Ye correspondent Ma Yaoyao) can not bear the blow of the death of her husband, the wife after the matter appeared chest pain, shortness of breath symptoms, suspected acute myocardial infarction. However, after the doctor's examination, it was clear that the patient was not a heart attack, but a sad overly "heartbreak".

The afternoon before yesterday, a 54-year-old female patient was rushed to the Chest Pain Center of Wuhan Central Hospital's Houhu Branch. The doctor learned from the family that the husband of the patient Aunt Chen died of liver cancer a week ago. Aunt Chen was devastated, coupled with the overwork of the funeral, the chest continued to ache that morning, and there was a clear sense of pressure and wheezing.

The doctor urgently did an electrocardiogram for Aunt Chen, and the initial suspicion was that it was acute inferior myocardial infarction, and there was also obvious sinus bradycardia. The patient is then transferred to the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit and a temporary pacemaker is quickly implanted to ensure a normal heartbeat. Curiously, however, further emergency coronary angiography did not reveal significant narrowing of the blood vessels.

Director Chen Juan of the Cardiovascular Internal Medicine Intensive Care Unit diagnosed stress cardiomyopathy after asking the patient's medical history in detail, and then carried out symptomatic treatment such as protecting the myocardium and improving cardiac function. The next day, Aunt Chen's chest pain symptoms completely disappeared, and the vital signs are currently stable.

Chen Manhua, director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Department of the hospital, introduced that stress cardiomyopathy is commonly known as "heartbreak syndrome", which is more common in postmenopausal women. Most patients have suffered severe physical and mental stimulation before the onset of the disease, emotional fluctuations are large, and the level of adrenaline is rapidly increased, resulting in a weakened ability to contract the heart, chest pain, difficulty breathing and other symptoms similar to coronary heart disease angina or myocardial infarction. "Heartbreak syndrome" generally does not cause serious consequences, but if the symptoms of "heartbreak" persist and do not resolve, it may cause sudden cardiac arrest and sudden death.

Director Chen reminded that since the beginning of autumn, the temperature difference between day and night has become larger, which is easy to induce cardiovascular disease, and autumn is a high incidence of depression, and female friends should pay special attention to regulating emotions and relaxing their hearts in everything, so as not to really "break their hearts".
