Song Jiashu, the father of the Song Dynasty, was a revolutionary supporter and devoted a large amount of money to supporting Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary activities. Seeing Sun Yat-sen, Soong Ching Ling was extremely excited and joined his father and eldest sister to assist Sun Yat-sen in handling English letters.
In September 1914, Song Xialing returned to Shanghai to marry Kong Xiangxi. Soong Ching Ling succeeded his sister as Sun Yat-sen's secretary.

From November 1914 to May 1915, Song Qingling left Japan twice to return to Shanghai in order to avoid suspicion.
Sun Yat-sen was deeply disappointed by her departure and wrote to Father Song several times to inquire about Soong Ching-ling's movements and to test whether the old friend might marry his daughter to himself.
Sun once implied in a letter that Song Qingling would marry a great rebel and have a status similar to that of an empress.
Father Song said in his reply that Song Qingling had no intention of becoming empress. He also said that his daughter would never give a concubine to anyone, even if the other party was "the greatest king, monarch or president in the world."
Father Song's reply made Sun see clearly that the biggest obstacle between them was their married status.
Sun Yat-sen quickly cut through the chaos and resolutely went through divorce procedures with his original partner, Lu Muzhen. He sent someone to take his divorce papers to Shanghai again to find Song Qingling.
Soong Ching-ling, who had a secret heart, saw Sun Yat-sen's sincerity.
In June 1915, Soong Ching Ling specially sought the consent of her parents for her marriage to Sun Yat-sen, and the Song family was hit by a major earthquake. Song Jiashu and his wife were greatly surprised and scolded Sun Yat-sen. Mother Song tearfully dissuaded Song Qingling again and again.
The determined Song Qingling remained unmoved, and her father decided to put her under house arrest.
Sun Yat-sen's friends also expressed dissent.

Song Qingling recalled in his later years: "At that time, my parents were opposed. My father thought that the age difference was too much, and my mother had been living a turbulent and displaced life because Mr. Sun's own life was very difficult, afraid that I would suffer hardships. My mother loved me the most, and she wept over it. ”
Later, her parents found out that she had left the house privately and chased her to Tokyo to persuade her to leave her grandson, "My mother was crying, and my father, who was sick, was persuading... Even though I pitied my parents very much and I cried sadly, I refused to leave my husband. ”
After the Song couple did not succeed in their marriage, they still sent a set of ancient furniture and hundreds of silk satins to Make a dowry for Song Qingling.
This may be a projection of the hearts of parents in the world. Political circumstances, political interests and fait accomplis have forced dissenters to accept this epoch-making marriage.

In 1918, Sun Yat-sen wrote to Mrs. Conderich: "My wife was educated at an American university and was the daughter of one of my earliest colleagues and friends. I now live a new life that I have never had before: a real family life, a partner and assistant," Sun suixin also attached to his photo with Song.
From the words of this letter, it can be seen that Sun is quite satisfied with Song. Half a hundred years old, he lamented that he had finally enjoyed "real family life" and could also read the extraordinary significance of his wife Song Qingling to him.
Song Qingling was not his first woman, but he was the last woman and the woman he loved the most.
Regrettably, during Chen Jiongming's rebellion on June 16, 1922, in order to cover Sun Yat-sen and let him go first, Soong Ching Ling suffered a small birth due to excessive tension and fatigue during the war.
She had lost the only child of her life. I never had any children of my own in my life.
And Sun was full of heartache and guilt for her.

On March 12, 1925, sun Yat-sen died in Beijing due to the rapid deterioration of his condition (12.11.1866 - 12.3.12, 1925).
Song Qingling is only 32 years old and has been married for ten years.
Sun Yat-sen must have been extremely reluctant to love his wife. The last glance before his heart stopped beating was when he looked at his wife, and his mouth was chanting: "Peaceful struggle to save China, darling."
Then he stopped breathing and said goodbye to his beloved country and wife forever.
Soong Ching Ling was devastated by Sun Yat-sen's long and sudden death, and has been depressed for a long time ever since.
Because of the changes in the times, Song Qingling later experienced a more difficult and difficult life. But she has always inherited Sun Yat-sen's legacy and worked hard to defend Sun Yat-sen's ideals.
In 1926, she wrote to a friend: "I tried to forget myself and devote myself to my husband's life's work, which is to realize a true Republic of China... What a tragedy it is not for selfless patriots to lead the country out of chaos. I must do my best and encourage others to continue my husband's career. ”
These sentences, which were not deliberately written in the letters to her best friend, became a reflection of the rest of her life.
Soong Ching Ling and Sun Yat-sen were not only lovers of mutual affection, but also like-minded revolutionary partners.
