One year there was a great drought in Jinan, Zhang Zongchang could not ask for rain in Jinan, and in a rage, he pulled the cannon to the Thousand Buddha Mountain, threatening to take the cannon to bombard the sky without raining again, I don't know if it was a coincidence or the Jade Emperor was afraid of him, I heard that there was really a heavy rain. Here is his poem "Asking for Rain":
The Jade Emperor's grandfather is also surnamed Zhang, why is it difficult for Zhang Zongchang? It won't rain for three days, first pick up the Dragon Emperor Temple, and then bombard your mother with cannons.
Once he took Cui Blind Zi, Pan Fu, Zhang Jinhua Li Hongyan and others to Mount Tai. Looking at it from afar, Mount Tai was majestic and magnificent, and the poetry flourished, asking people for pen and ink, spreading paper and waving, and chanting a seven-word poem. Titled "Wing Tai Shan", the poem reads:
From a distance, Tarzan is black and mushy, and the upper head is thin and the lower head is thick. If tarzan is turned upside down, the lower head is thin and the upper head is thick.
Zhang Zongchang finished writing, radiant, and asked, "How is this poem?" Most of the followers did not understand poetry, shook their heads and chanted repeatedly, and shouted in unison. Even those who know a little poetry, no one stands up to the risk, sweeps the xing of the superintendent, echoes it, and claps their hands in praise. Zhang Zongchang saw that everyone praised in unison, so he asked Pan Fu: "Pan Fu, you are literate and hyphenated and full of poetry books, to tell the truth, what is this poem like?"
Pan Fu was not surprised, and when he saw Zhang Zongchang asking a question, he pondered a little, and said: "Although the grand marshal was born in the military, he studied in the Yanshi division and grew day by day, not only did he have the skill of wearing Yang in a hundred steps, but he was proficient in marksmanship, and he could also wield ink, rhyme and rhyme, work together in a good battle, and there was no shortage of good poems." "Really?" Zhang Zongchang asked again. "Yes." Pan Fu nodded and said that it was Cui Blind who was caught in the jaw and smiled.
Zhang Zongchang listened to Pan Fu's comments, believed it to be true, and was overjoyed, so he asked a craftsman to make a large horizontal plaque and placed the poem in the Bixia Palace on the top of Tai Mountain.
Of course, Zhang Zongchang's poems also had some criticisms of the society at that time, such as "Bastard Poetry":
