During the Republic of China period, Zhang Zongchang (1881-1932), a native of Ye County (present-day Laizhou City), was the commander of the SuwanLu Bandits, the Military Governor of Shandong Province, the Governor of Shandong Province, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Zhilu Coalition Army. He also has many nicknames, such as "Dog Meat General", "Chaos Demon King", "Long-legged General", "Three Unknown Generals", "Five Poison Generals", "Zhang Sanduo", and so on, and so on.
Wang Shoupeng (1875.4-1929.7) was a famous scholar, educator and calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. A native of Weixian County, Shandong Province. Late Qing Dynasty. He went abroad with five ministers, including Zaizawa and Duanfang, to Japan to investigate politics, education, and industry. He served as an envoy of Hubei Province, concurrently as a political envoy, acting inspector of Hubei, secretary and secretary general of the Beijing Presidential Office.
In 1925, Zhang Zongchang became the chairman of Shandong Province, and wanted to find someone to serve as the director of the Department of Education, but he could not find a suitable one, which made the "dog meat general" very angry. Left and right suggested that in addition to the Qufu Kong Sage Family, the only one who could do it was Wang Zhuangyuan of Weixian County. When Zhang Zongchang heard the great joy, he immediately sent someone to spend a lot of money to invite Wang Shoupeng, a native of Weixian County, who was the last branch of the late Qing Dynasty, to be the director of the Shandong Provincial Education Department, and to worship Wang Shoupeng as a teacher, so that this Zhuangyuan Gong could teach him to write poetry, and later published a collection of poems. Because Zhang Zongchang's character is effective kun, the poem collection is named "Xiao Kun Poetry Banknote". Zhang Zongchang gave the collection of poems to a friendly friend.
It is said that when Wang Shoupeng entered Beijing to catch the examination, he played very well on the spot and had outstanding literary skills, but it should not be the first (entering the top ten and entering the temple examination), only because the temple examination coincided with the birthday of the Western Empress Dowager Cixi Lafayette, and the chief examiner deliberately put Wang Shoupeng's examination paper in front in order to shoot Lafayette's ass. At that time, Zhang Zongchang not only composed poems and published poetry collections, but also printed and published the Thirteen Classics (said to be the best printed quality of the Thirteen Classics in the world). At the same time as the Thirteen Classics of the Great Seal, Zhang Zongchang also asked Wang Shoupeng to rectify education in Shandong, advocating the reading of the scriptures in the school, and stipulating that there must be a scripture study class in the school, saying that it was to save the moral people's hearts.
When Wang Shoupeng was the director of the Shandong Provincial Department, he merged six specialized schools in Jinan in 1926 to establish Shandong University, and hired Wang Shoupeng as the first president. However, Wang Shoupeng sent Zhang Zongchang on an errand and "aided and abetted abuse" and became a stain on his life. At that time, there was a rumor that Wang Shoupeng embezzled the salary of the professor, which caused a storm in the city and caused a sensation in Jinan City, especially in the education circles. In addition, he never forgot that he was the duty of a feudal ruler, the concept of education was too old and conservative, he did not understand new learning, and asked all the teachers and students of the school to wear robes and horses at the opening ceremony and Confucius's birthday, and kneel down to the throne of Confucius; he also invited the former Qing Dynasty's people and Hanlin as teachers. Similar conservative measures have caused teachers and students to complain, and they have jointly petitioned the principal to resign. In desperation, in June 1927, Wang Shou was forced to submit his resignation and live in Beijing and Tianjin.
Although Wang Shoupeng was not a great man, he had also been a high-ranking official and had accomplished some things. From ancient times to the present, like him who has been lucky by name for a lifetime, it seems that there are not many in detail. As for his bumpy old age, it was caused by his own conformism and inability to change.

Wang Shoupeng is not very famous, but the calligraphy is quite famous, and people often take pride in his ink treasure, and it is said that the first plaque of Shandong University was written by him, but it can no longer be found.
