Volodine pointed out that if we talk about awards in basic science fields such as the Nobel Prize in Physics and Chemistry, we can find that the scientists who have won the prize are all outstanding achievements in certain fields, and we understand what they are awarding for.
Today's Nobel Peace Prize does not have any clear criteria for evaluation. Although Alfred Nobel made it clear in his will that the Peace Prize should be awarded to "those who have made a significant contribution to the unity of nations, the reduction of armies or the development of peace", the current Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded according to these criteria at all, lowering the level of the Nobel Prize as a whole.
For example, former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, whose rule led to the collapse of the Soviet Union and caused the biggest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century, the former Soviet republics are still feeling the devastating consequences of the collapse of the Soviet Union, why should norwegians give him awards?
There was also former U.S. President Barack Obama, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee said Obama had made "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and inter-state cooperation," but that Obama had just become president of the United States at the time and did not see any results from him.
