But what happened in Lithuania was caught up in endless strife, and Gorbachev said he didn't know anything at the time, or he learned it later.
As for who gave the order, Gorbachev had said that it was a local Lithuanian officer who took the force. If Lithuania, which had declared independence at that time, still considered itself to belong to the Soviet Union, it could be regarded as an order issued by a Soviet officer, but if lithuania was considered to have been independent at that time, then the lithuanian officer should be responsible for the orders issued by the Lithuanian officer.
In short, 30 years later, this matter has not yet been clarified. Lithuania sued Marshal Yazov, the Soviet defense minister, in 2019, and then, in Yazov's absence, sentenced him to 10 years in prison. Lithuania had tasted the sweetness of this operation and was now trying to get Gorbachev in the same way.
At present, Russia has explicitly rejected the request of the Lithuanian court to interrogate Gorbachev, and then Lithuania is afraid that it will have to try in absentia, as it did with Yazov, and then sentence Gorbachev.
