Moscow, 20 Sep (China News Service) -- The elections for Russia's Eighth State Duma (lower house of parliament) ended on 19 September. According to export polls, the United Russia Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and the Just Russia-Patriots entered the State Duma for the Sake of truth.

About 96,000 polling points were set up in Russia, and temporary polling points were set up in some areas of COVID-19 treatment and isolation points, and 348 overseas polling points were also set up. Voting starts at 8:00 local time on the 17th and ends at 20:00 on the 19th.
There are 108 million registered voters in Russia, and another 2 million overseas voters. The Russian Central Election Commission announced that as of 18:00 on the 19th, the voter turnout rate exceeded 45%.

An export poll is a survey conducted by a polling agency at the exit of a polling station on voters who have just walked out of a polling station to estimate the outcome of an election by directly asking who voters voted for. The State Duma is a permanent legislature of Russia, composed of 450 representatives, who is mainly responsible for drafting and formulating state laws, deliberating on the appointment of the prime minister of the government and deciding on the issue of confidence in the president. The election was conducted on a mixed electoral system, in which half of the 450 seats were elected on the basis of proportional representation by political parties, while the other half were elected in single-seat constituencies, i.e. 225 constituencies were established throughout the country, with one member elected to each constituency.
