Specifically, from January to September this year, in the United States market, Hyundai electric vehicle sales were 48,297, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%; Kia's electric vehicle sales were 43,051 units, up 80.3% year-on-year. The combined monthly sales of the two companies exceeded 10,000 units in the first nine months of this year, and according to the current trend, the cumulative sales in October this year are expected to exceed the 100,000 mark.

IONIQ 5

In the first nine months of this year, the best-selling model among Hyundai and Kia's electric vehicles was the IONIQ 5, with sales of 30,318 units, up 19.8% year-on-year.

It is understood that Hyundai's plant in Georgia, United States, has recently started production of the IONIQ 5 model. Hyundai spokesperson Bianca Johnson said, "If Tesla EVs are not counted, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is the second best-selling electric vehicle in the United States in the first half of 2024." It is reported that Hyundai aims to produce 300,000 electric vehicles per year in Georgia.

IONIQ 5 N

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is positioned as an all-electric midsize SUV, with the entry-level model based on the 2024 model. At present, the 2025 IONIQ 5 has been released in overseas markets, and the car mainly adjusts the exterior and interior details, and upgrades the battery capacity. In the domestic market, the Hyundai N brand introduced the high-performance version of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 - IONIQ 5 N, with an official guide price of 388,800 yuan and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.4 seconds.
