This Kaiquan Koshihikari rice is already an old acquaintance of ours. It is a hit in the lower kitchen market, selling more than 50,000 catties, and still maintaining a score of 9.7 points (close to a full score!) It is the favorite of many chefs to repurchase for a long time.
It is worth mentioning that after several years, the supplier still has not increased the price, and it can still be sold at the price of 3 years ago (the price of delicious rice has risen sharply in recent years, especially this year, the climate and environment in the country are generally poor). Koshihikari rice has an average of more than a dozen pieces on the market, and our lowest is only ¥8.49/catty.

In fact, the quality of rice varies from year to year, and sometimes eating a rice that you are very satisfied with will have a different taste in the second year due to differences in environment, climate, and plant status (which is also an irresistible factor for planting crops).
Therefore, even if we know that Haiquan rice has always had a good reputation, we dare not choose it to cooperate as soon as we come up. We bought 16 types of rice with good reputation on the market and tried and evaluated them one by one.

Among the rice we tried was the well-known Wuchang rice (we tried it in all three core producing areas), but the quality this year was not as good as it could be.
In addition, we also tried an award-winning rice exclusively provided by Black Pearl Restaurant, and the price can reach 38 yuan per catty, which is delicious, but the overall feeling is that it is "not worthy of the high price".
This Kaiquan Koshihikari Rice not only has the highest taste score, but also has an affordable price, which can be described as the king of cost performance.
What is Koshihikari Rice?
Koshihikari rice is said to be the best rice in Japan, and it is best produced in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. It tastes soft and sweet, and it is also one of the more expensive types of rice, and the high-quality ones can be sold for hundreds of yuan per catty.
Koshihikari rice was introduced in China for a long time. Dandong, Liaoning Province, is located at the same latitude as Niigata Prefecture, where it originates, and is currently recognized as the best Koshihikari rice producing area in Japan. Over the years, Dandong Koshihikari rice has gained a good reputation, and some good products will even be exported to Japan.
Compared to the high price of Japanese Koshihikari rice, the cost of land and labor is relatively low for Koshihikari rice grown in China, so the Koshihikari rice produced in Dandong retains the wonderful taste of Japanese Koshihikari rice while having a more affordable price.

Our Haiquan Koshihikari rice is planted in Dandong, Liaoning Province, and its suppliers have been exported to Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions since its establishment.
Haiquan rice is cultivated on the coast of Dandong, where the sun is abundant, the land is unpolluted, and the rice fields are irrigated by both spring and sea water, so it is also called "Haiquan rice".
Asked why the quality of Haiquan rice has been the same over the years? The boss shared, "We have always insisted on buying maternal seeds from Japan for the first generation to propagate, and we will only plant them for 2-3 years. After the deadline, the seeds will be purchased again to ensure that the varieties are pure and just right. ”
Haiquan rice adopts the planting method of pure manual sowing, harvesting and application of farm fertilizer, without ripening and pesticides, and the growth cycle is as long as 180 days (other varieties are generally 120-160 days), and the yield is lower than that of ordinary rice, but the quality is guaranteed.
Due to the characteristics of Koshihikari rice, it is not possible to have white cores, and it is better to have crystal clear grains (this is different from domestic varieties of rice, which we generally think has a sweeter taste).
This unique environment and climate nurture Haiquan rice, which is full and crystalline, and tastes exceptionally soft and glutinous.
The natural aroma of rice is very strong when cooking, and it lasts for a long time in the bowl, provoking a ball of white rice in the mouth, fragrant and soft and elastic, every chew can make people tremble happily, chew carefully, the sweetness of rice slowly emerges, such as oil like milk pulp, and the taste is very good.
