On the afternoon of May 11, on the occasion of the 113th "5.12" International Nurses Day, the First People's Hospital of Jintang County held the 80th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the hospital and the celebration of the "5.12" International Nurses Day in the Innovation Hall. With the theme of "Angels Blooming and Striving for a New Journey", the event continued Nightingale's century-old spirit of care and praised the great love of the angels in white for their selfless dedication.
Professor Cheng Yijuan, winner of the 44th Nightingale Medal and West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Professor Jiang Yan, winner of the 49th Nightingale Medal and director of the Nursing Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, sent holiday blessings through video. Cao Qianbin, member of the Party Group and Deputy County Mayor of Jintang County People's Government, Yi Gang, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the County Health Bureau, and Gao Huajin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Government Supervision Commissioner of Chengdu University of Arts and Sciences, attended the event. More than 200 people, including Wu Yongkang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, Yan Cavalry, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the hospital, and other team members, employee representatives and heads of various medical community units participated in the event. Professor Cheng Yijuan expressed her deepest wishes to the nursing workers. She said that nursing work is a noble and great cause. Since 2016, when West China Hospital led the establishment of the First People's Hospital of Jintang County, the nursing team of West China and the nursing team of the first hospital of the county have become increasingly close, and the majority of nursing workers have inherited the spirit of Nightingale, worked diligently and contributed to the nursing position. She sent a message to nursing colleagues not to forget their original aspirations, keep their mission in mind, pass on the torch, forge ahead, promote the development of nursing with higher standards, stricter requirements and more practical style, and contribute to the realization of the grand blueprint of a healthy China.
Professor Jiang Yan said that nurses, as the core force in the health care system, play an irreplaceable role in shaping the future of the medical and health field. Combined with the theme of Nurses' Day, she urged nursing colleagues to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of nursing services, so that the value of nurses can be fully demonstrated. At the same time, she also encouraged the majority of nurses to create a new brilliant chapter in nursing work with more enthusiasm and more professional quality.
In his speech, Cao Qianbin, deputy county magistrate, fully affirmed the excellent achievements of the hospital with the joint efforts of nursing workers. At the same time, he put forward three hopes. First, it is hoped that the majority of nursing workers will firmly establish the concept of people first and life first, continue to carry forward the spirit of Nightingale, strengthen learning, improve skills, and make new contributions. Second, it is hoped that the hospital will solidly promote high-quality nursing services, strengthen the construction of nursing disciplines and teams, enrich the connotation of nursing services, promote the homogeneous development of medical community nursing, and effectively enhance the people's sense of access and happiness in medical treatment. Third, it is hoped that the county health system will continue to care for the majority of nursing workers, and provide more platforms and opportunities for nursing workers to better display their talents and create achievements.
