The China-Laos Railway is an important transportation corridor connecting China with the Southeast Asian market. The reporter learned from the Kunming Bureau of the National Railway that from January to April this year, the China-Laos Railway transported a total of 6.55 million tons of goods, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%.
The data shows that after a large number of Southeast Asian fruits were listed, the import and export fruit and vegetable transportation volume of Yunnan Mohan Railway Port also ushered in a peak, with an average daily transportation volume of more than 1,500 tons. The railway department has intensified the operation of the "Lancang-Mekong Express" cold chain trains. The average number of columns per day has increased from 1.5 to 3, reaching 4 during peak periods, and at the same time, we continue to optimize the cooperation mechanism with customs, border inspection and other departments to further shorten the inspection process and improve the efficiency of customs clearance.
In order to meet the logistics needs of perishable fruits such as durian and mangosteen, the railway department mobilized more than 1,000 refrigerated containers, prioritized the allocation of transport capacity, and the "Lancang-Mekong Express" international freight train specially opened by the China-Laos Railway took only 26 hours to travel from Kunming, China and Vientiane, Laos.
Since the beginning of this year, the import and export of fresh goods transported by the China-Laos Railway has reached 64,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of more than two times, including 58,000 tons of imported fruits. The cross-border cargo categories of the China-Laos Railway have expanded from more than 10 types of rubber, fertilizer, and department stores in the early days of its opening to more than 2,900 types of electronics, photovoltaics, communications, and automobiles.
