The original musical "Light and Shadow Boy" held a press conference and audition at Beijing We Show on May 13, where all the actors and the main creative team chatted with the audience about the stories in front of and behind the scenes, and grabbed the "fresh" to send 8 original music songs.
The musical "Light and Shadow Boy" is produced by Beijing Youth Blossom Entertainment Co., Ltd. and Beijing Qiyin Space Culture Co., Ltd., and is the first original musical produced by the musical label "Youth Blossom Musical" under the umbrella of Youthful Blossom.
The protagonist of the play, Ou Shinan, will be played by young actors and singers Tian Hongjie, Xu Ziwei, Rao Hengyu, and Huang Weiming, and the protagonist Xiang Zhige will be played by Chen Renquan, Zhu Yancheng, Tang Jiaqi, and Liu Quanjun. They also shared their respective keywords on the spot, and as words such as growth, rebirth, original intention, transformation, spicy, and healing burst out one by one, the outline and texture of the whole drama gradually surfaced.
Referring to the original intention of creation, director Guo Zhen introduced: "The naming of Light and Shadow Boy is to hope to integrate professionalism and vitality, and the script has gone through three years of repeated speculation, from small events to big industries, from digging stories to digging connotations, and constantly combing into a more satisfactory version at present." The creative process ranges from desk work to actor training, with 4 sets of casts and 8 leading actors, who wholeheartedly coordinate the rehearsal progress and constantly collide and polish. ”
All the music of the play is composed by Liu Xuandou, a well-known music producer who has created many popular film and television music such as "Do You Know If You Should Be Green, Fat, Red and Thin", "You Fei", "Qingping Le", "Flower Order", etc., Liu Jing is the lyricist and producer, and Zhang Huaqi is the screenwriter and lyricist. "The mainstream music of the whole show is mainly pop music, and at the same time, with the interweaving of ice and fire of the characters, as well as the light and dark direction of the story, it integrates a variety of different genres, including hip-hop, electronic, and even two-person turning, etc., hoping to bring the audience a new experience." Liu Xuandou introduced.
Subsequently, the leading actors sang "Look at the Young You Again & It's Too Late", "Towards You", "The Thorn of the Rose", "Eating Melons", "Song of Xiang" and other singing segments in the play, allowing the audience to perceive the sense of integration brought by multiple genres in advance.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the cast setting and original music, the play also uses a super-large lineup of four groups of actors in terms of lineup and character settings. "The play is set by two male protagonists, so we have 8 leading actors, both in casting and rehearsal, it is not a small challenge, not only to twist their spirit into one, twist into the characters in the play, but also through different performances, reflect the different aura and tension of each group of actors. The process was still quite difficult, and everyone rehearsed for more than 10 hours a day in order to show the sparkling teenager on stage. Director Guo Zhen said.
In addition to a number of new generation strength students, the play also set up a mysterious "phantom" role, "the appearance of this character is not only a unique artistic perspective, but also a special easter egg", producer Liu Jing said, "Phantom" will take a random airborne way to participate in the repertoire performance, the cast includes Wang Xi, Jiang Qianru, Song Yuzhe, Huang Zihongfan, Bo Yuan, Cai Qi, Mao Er, Ye Qisheng and other musical first-line actors and singers, bringing different expectations to the audience who watch each performance.
It is reported that the play will premiere at the Beijing Erqi Theater from June 7th to 9th, and then it is planned to tour in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou and other places.
