On the occasion of the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Yakeshi City organized and carried out a disaster prevention and mitigation publicity activity with the theme of "mastering the knowledge of pest prevention and mitigation and improving the ability of the whole people to avoid danger" in the sports and leisure square, so as to effectively improve the people's understanding of the prevention and control of forestry pests and the protection of forest resources.
The publicity activities took the means of hanging banners, placing exhibition boards, distributing leaflets and knowledge manuals, on-site explanations, etc., so that the masses understood the harm, transmission routes, prevention and control measures and related laws and regulations of pine wood nematode disease, American white moth, Northeast squirrel and other pests to forest and grassland resources, and at the same time demonstrated the work results of Yakeshi City in the monitoring and early warning of forest and grass pests, quarantine and disaster prevention, prevention and mitigation and guarantee support system, and stimulated the enthusiasm of the public to participate in the prevention and control of forest and grass pests. It has created a good social atmosphere for the construction of ecological civilization and the high-quality development of forestry and grassland.
Yue Xinxin, deputy director of the Yakeshi Forestry and Grassland Development Center, introduced that in order to improve the public's awareness of disaster prevention and reduction, enhance disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities, and protect the safety of the ecological environment, the Yakeshi Forestry and Grassland Bureau closely focused on the theme and carried out this forest and grass pest disaster prevention and mitigation publicity activity.
