In order to further popularize the knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation, improve the awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation and the ability of self-rescue and mutual rescue of teachers and students in the jurisdiction, taking the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day and Disaster Prevention and Reduction Publicity Week as an opportunity, on May 11, the Steel Road Office, together with the Huimin District Fire and Rescue Brigade, the Steel Road Police Station, and the Second Primary School of the Steel Road, carried out a safety emergency drill with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve the Ability of Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Avoidance".
On May 11, at 10:30 a.m., the drill officially began as the siren sounded. Under the guidance of the staff, teachers and students quickly and orderly evacuated the classroom according to the predetermined plan, and assembled to the playground along the designated evacuation route. During the whole process, the whole exercise process was tense and orderly, and the expected results were achieved, and the students showed a high sense of discipline and self-protection, and no one was left behind or panicked.
After the assembly, the staff of the fire brigade explained in detail the basic knowledge of fire prevention, escape and self-rescue to the teachers and students, and made the students deeply aware of the importance of disaster prevention and mitigation through vivid cases and practical skills.
At the same time, the firefighters popularized the knowledge of fire safety for the students, let the children visit the equipment of the fire truck up close, and explained the functions and use of various fire rescue tools. The students listened carefully and interacted actively, and they all said that they benefited a lot.
The firefighters showed the students the firefighting uniforms, and invited some students to come to the stage to experience wearing firefighting uniforms, so that the children also became a "little firefighter", and also experienced the hard work and difficulty of the firefighter profession.
This emergency drill not only enhanced the safety awareness and emergency response ability of teachers and students, but also allowed them to learn a lot of practical knowledge and skills in disaster prevention and mitigation. In the next step, the Steel Road Office will continue to increase its efforts to do a good job in earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge publicity activities, strengthen the investigation of potential safety hazards, and continuously enhance the safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of residents in the jurisdiction, so as to escort the safety of residents' lives and property.
