Today I'm going to do an experiment with red beans called "Dancing". The ingredients I prepared were glasses, paper cups, white vinegar, baking soda, spoons, water, red beans, and wooden sticks.
In the first step, I pour two spoonfuls of baking soda into a glass, then pour in a little tap water and gently stir it with a wooden stick. In the second step, pour in a small amount of white vinegar several times. The first time I poured too much, the foam almost spilled. So we must be careful to add white vinegar in small amounts. The third step is to put the red bean in, and after waiting for a few seconds, the red bean starts to "dance", "I did it successfully!" I shouted happily. But why is that?
I quickly checked the principle on the Internet, and it turned out that baking soda will react when it meets white vinegar, and carbon dioxide gas will be produced during the reaction, forming bubbles, which will adhere to the red beans and increase buoyancy. These bubbles rise to the surface of the water with red beans like swimming rings. When the bubbles come into contact with the air or collide with other adzuki beans and burst, the adzuki beans sink to the bottom of the water due to their own strength. This process repeats itself, giving the red beans a "dancing" effect.
This time, I have increased my knowledge and exercised my hands-on ability through experiments, which is really rewarding! I can't help but admire: the science experiment is so interesting!

Today, my mom and I did a little experiment called Naughty Paper Balls.
I prepared some materials first: two sheets of cardboard, two glasses, a wooden stick and a bottle of dish soap. In the first step, I connect two glasses to half a glass of water. The second step was to put a little dish soap in one of the cups, I thought it was too little, but my mother said it would be okay, so I didn't add anything more. The third step is to roll the cardboard into two paper balls and place them in two glasses. Then, I stared at the two cups with wide eyes and full attention, lest I miss the slightest change in the paper ball. After waiting for a while, I found that the paper ball was floating on the surface of the water in the cup without dish soap, and in the cup with dish soap, the paper ball was slowly unfolding. Two minutes passed, and I took the paper out and found that the paper in the dish soap cup was fully unfolded, but the paper without dish soap had not changed at all. When I saw this, I was so surprised that my eyes almost popped out.
Finally, my mother told me the principle of this experiment, it turns out that the main ingredient of dish soap is surfactant, and the active molecules will reduce the tension of the water, making it easier for water to penetrate the paper ball, so that it will flatten, so the paper ball will open.
