The little helper neighbor's house, planted an acre of corn last year, harvested in early October, an acre of land yield of about 1,300 catties, after drying it has been placed there, in early November, when there were grain sellers in the village who went to the countryside to collect grain, the price given was 1.30 yuan / catty.
Because in the first half of last year, the price of corn could still be sold at more than 1.40 yuan/catty, and the low price of 1.30 yuan/catty was disliked.
Around New Year's Day this year, the price of corn has dropped to about 1.25 yuan per catty, according to the thinking of most farmers and friends, 1.30 yuan has not been sold, and 1.25 yuan is even more unlikely to be sold, so continue to save.
I originally thought that the price would rise in a period of time before the Spring Festival, but the price of corn has not risen sharply, and the only upward trend is that it has risen by a few cents per catty.

From last year's corn harvest to May this year, about 7 months have passed, and last year's inquiry about the price of 1.30 yuan/catty, to the current price of 1 yuan/catty, basically half a year has passed.
Half a year ago, 1300 catties, the price of 1.30 yuan/catty, can still be sold for 1690 yuan, but now the price of 1 yuan/catty can only be sold for 1300 yuan, 390 yuan less.
Even so, I accepted this gap, earning a few hundred less, just a few hundred less, and not delaying the wheat harvest at the end of May. And as the temperature warms up and the rainfall increases, the chance of corn mildew and insects increases. The idea is good, however, in reality, something goes terribly wrong. Before pouring the corn out of the bag, I thought that the corn might be moldy, after all, from last year's drying into the bag, until this year, it has not been dried again, and has been stored in the corner of the house.
Who would have thought that after pouring out the corn in the bag, the mold situation would be so serious. After I saw it for the first time, I had an idea in my heart, I guess no one wants to give it away.
However, after all, this is 1,300 catties of corn, if it is a pity to throw it all away, in the end there is no way, pour out all the moldy corn first, and after simply drying it, it will be pulled to the grain collection point to see if they want it. When we went, we discussed together, even if we could give 5 cents a pound and sell it, even if we earned less, it was better than not earning at all.
Pulling these moldy corn, after arriving at the grain collection point, the grain seller directly said that he would not accept it, the corn was seriously moldy, and the smell was relatively heavy, according to the grain dealer's words, if the corn was poured into their warehouse, the good corn would also be wasted.
I worked hard to pull it back, and I couldn't pull it back so easily, so I told the boss that even if it was 5 cents a catty, it would be okay to sell it to you (normal corn is 1 yuan per catty). The price is half cheaper, and the boss doesn't want it, and even said that you can't charge 2 cents a catty, and they can't sell it if they do.
It's a pity to throw it away like this, and I talked to the boss for a long time, and finally the boss gave the idea and helped contact a farmer, and the result was sold to him for 4 cents a pound. Last year, 1,300 pounds were dried, and now they are damp and moldy, probably less than 1,400 pounds, and a total of 550 yuan was given.
This is the end of the matter, from last year's corn harvest of nearly 1,700 yuan income did not sell, to now only sold 550 yuan, and the former is still rushing to harvest, the latter is begging to harvest, the gap is embarrassing.
Since the second half of last year and into this year, the price of corn has continued to fall. Due to the high price of corn in the previous two years, farmers were reluctant to sell, and corn was not sold for a long time. This sentiment is understandable, after all, the higher the price of corn, the higher the profit, and everyone wants to sell it for a good price.
However, in the process of storing corn, be sure to check it from time to time, the storage environment is more ventilated, if there is not much corn, you can also spread it out to dry it several times, so that when there is a big rise in the market in the future, you can also catch up.
