By 2024, the tourist tax for visitors from most countries to enter the islands will be doubled.

In 2018, it was estimated that nearly 50% of the nearby corals were destroyed by anchors, shark populations dropped significantly, and the beach was closed to tourists. Since 2022, beaches have reopened with the introduction of sustainable protocols.
