The conference was jointly organized by the Intelligent and Intelligent Special Committee of the China Hydropower Engineering Society and the China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Company, and undertaken by the China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Information and Communication Company, aiming to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises and accelerate the transformation of technological innovation achievements in the industry.

In recent years, with the explosive growth of pumped storage projects and the need for digital transformation, smart infrastructure has become a development trend.
High temperature, high humidity, strong wind, heavy rainfall, the natural conditions faced by the construction site of pumped storage power station are usually very harsh, and the violent vibration and a large amount of dust generated by blasting operations pose a great threat to the IT equipment on the site. In order to ensure that all kinds of equipment can work reliably in harsh environments, the R&D team of China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Information and Communication Company has designed an IT containment equipment, which integrates the servers and networks required for computing power and encapsulates them in a cabinet, and connects to the on-site power supply to realize power distribution output, network supply, temperature and humidity adjustment, remote monitoring and control, local management and other functions, so that the edge computing power integrated containment platform provides stable computing power support for various digital systems on the infrastructure site.

In order to strengthen the management of temporary electricity consumption at the construction site, the R&D team of China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Construction and Management Company has carried out the research and development of key technologies of intelligent distribution boxes from technical means such as distribution box protection zero line, leakage current, emergency power outage, and remote monitoring. In August 2022, the first intelligent distribution box with state awareness and remote monitoring functions in China was successfully launched, and the R&D team took the lead in developing anti-interference, high-precision distribution box protection zero line electrical connection validity detection and leakage current detection technology, realizing the fusion positioning and remote monitoring functions, which is a major breakthrough in the core technology of intelligent distribution box design and production in mainland China.

"The smart distribution box is made of weather-resistant materials, and the internal design meets a number of safety wiring requirements, integrates an efficient automatic measurement system that can measure the grounding resistance and leakage circuit breaker status in real time, integrates positioning technology, has information transmission and networking functions to achieve real-time data upload, and is equipped with an audible and visual alarm system with a one-button power-off function. Wang Yong, general manager of the innovation and digitalization department of China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Company, said. "This is a 'smart' distribution box in the true sense, and its safety and reliability have reached the international leading level after being identified. Up to now, this smart distribution box has sold more than 1,500 units, and the relevant achievements have been written into the "Technical Specifications for Electricity Safety for Temporary Construction of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Projects", which provides a demonstration for the construction of electricity management in the domestic hydropower industry, and can be widely used in the production and infrastructure sites in many fields such as hydropower and water conservancy, energy and power, housing construction, roads and bridges.

According to reports, a total of 20 units will display their booths and 11 units will conduct technical exchanges. China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Co., Ltd. demonstrated 17 scientific and technological innovation achievements, including the digital intelligent speed regulation system of independent and controllable large-scale pumped storage units, the key technology of the centralized control system of multi-plant and multi-plant stations of pumped storage, the intelligent inspection robot at the turbine layer of the underground plant of energy storage, the comprehensive solution of smart power plant, and the Bluetooth space intelligent perception system.
