The ancient Chinese bronze mirror is not only a practical instrument used for illumination in daily life, but also makes it a work of art with rich cultural connotation, and an important carrier that reflects the historical changes of philosophy, thought, culture, religion, art, science and technology and folk customs in different periods.
Based on the collection of bronze mirrors donated by Mr. Wang Ganghuai, and with the strong support of a number of domestic cultural institutions and private collectors, Tsinghua University Art Museum has selected more than 400 representative bronze mirrors of Chinese dynasties.
Tsinghua University Art Museum's series of exhibitions "All Things: Ancient Chinese Bronze Mirror Culture and Art" adds style to the 110th anniversary of Tsinghua University.
The exhibition is divided into five units: "Foresight of the Heavenly Heart", "Qin Ruo Xuanxiang", "Lang Xi Wanfang", "Mirror Yu Dao" and "All See", especially the five Chinese inscription Han mirrors of "Traveling in China", "China Tranquility", "Siyi Surrendering China Ning", "China Strong" and "China", outlining the formation process of China's national concept and reflecting the good wishes of the ancient Chinese for China's strength and prosperity, national peace and security.
