The history of Chinese lacquer can be traced back to more than 8,000 years ago. Today, how can this craft, which has a long history, be reborn in combination with modern art? A few days ago, the lacquer art exhibition of "Hundred Years of Lacquer Art Family Inheritance - The Application of Contemporary Art" opened at the Time Zone Gallery of Shanghai Sinan Mansion and was open to the public free of charge.
This exhibition is invited by the technology art company VITART from the lacquer art family: Wang Qingshuang, Wang Xianmin, Wang Xianzhi and Wang Junwei's family of three generations of four lacquer artists to exhibit. Their family's 100-year history of craftsmanship almost represents the 100-year modern history of the development of lacquer art.
Among them, Wang Qingshuang, a lacquer master born in 1922, not only developed the exquisite artistry of lacquer craftsmanship to the extreme, but also laid a new height of lacquer painting aesthetics. The second-generation lacquer painters Wang Xianmin and Wang Xianzhi, in addition to their father's enthusiasm for creation, pay more attention to the elegant auspicious totem, from which they present the traditional meaning of peace and festivity through various complex lacquer art techniques; On the basis of his grandparents and fathers, Wang Junwei integrated the colors of the new era and connected the aesthetics of lacquer painting with the present. The three generations of the family have important value in the inheritance, innovation and education and promotion of lacquer art, and also play a role in the history of art.
According to the organizer VITART, the use of "lacquer" is not uncommon in Chinese history, and it was often painted on boxes, bowls, chopsticks and other daily necessities in the past, and this process has also been used in magnificent and elegant artistic creations. However, lacquer art not only requires high environmental conditions from creation to completion, but also takes time and effort, which also leads to the dilemma of today's lacquer art being lost.
In view of this, VITART restores the expression of lacquer painting creation with a high degree of skill, and through high-end technology and craftsman skills, it faithfully restores the inlay, relief and splashing of different media such as lacquer liquid, gold and silver powder, shells, eggshells and other materials on the picture, so that the art of lacquer painting is no longer difficult to obtain due to the dilemma of skill inheritance, and presents the innovative achievements of VITART technology combined with art in the new era. The lacquer paintings on display this time are the crystallization of the new technology technology cooperated by VITART and the lacquer family, and reproduce the innovative process of combining lacquer art and new technology with "restoration painting".
