China is a world-renowned ancient civilization, in the long historical process, created a rich and splendid material and spiritual culture, ceramics can be called one of the most outstanding representatives.
The Palace Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in China established on the basis of the imperial palace buildings and collections of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and among the more than 1.86 million cultural relics in the collection, ceramic cultural relics account for more than 360,000 pieces, and most of them belong to the Qing Dynasty court collection. In particular, after several generations of experts have been researched and appraised, the ceramic collection of the Palace Museum has a high degree of authenticity and reliability.
About 1,000 representative ceramic collections are selected for this renovation, from the Neolithic Cishan culture to the Republic of China, which are displayed in 17 themes according to the order of development and use of the times, striving to reflect the continuous history and profound cultural connotation of Chinese ceramics for about 8,000 years.
(5) Famous kilns emerge one after another - Liao, Song, Xixia, and gold ceramics
Liao, Song, Xixia, Jin period, the ceramic industry flourished, famous kilns all over the place, the imperial court also set up kilns in the north and south to burn porcelain for the court, called "official kiln". Among them, Ru kiln, Guan kiln, Ge kiln, Ding kiln, Jun kiln, Yaozhou kiln, Cizhou kiln, Longquan kiln, Jingdezhen kiln, Jizhou kiln, Yue kiln, Jianyao and other famous kilns fired porcelain, highly respected by later generations. After the Jurchens destroyed the Northern Song Dynasty, the porcelain industry of the Jin Dynasty continued to develop on the basis of the Northern Song Dynasty, and famous porcelain kilns such as Yaozhou kiln, Cizhou kiln, Jun kiln, and Ding kiln all fired ceramics with a unique rough and majestic artistic style of the northern country.
