Once, Chen Yi, who served as the commander of the Jiangxi Military Region, approached Luo Fu and said that the Jiangxi Military Region was going to hold a meeting, and called the comrades of the Central Committee, Zhu De, Mao Zedong, and Zhou Enlai, to make a report and make a speech.
In fact, his purpose was to get Mao Zedong, who was in a difficult situation, to come out and speak to everyone and show his face.
Unexpectedly, at the conference, Bogu and Luo Fu spoke a lot, but Mao Zedong did not finish. Chen Yi later said: "We didn't succeed. We just want to organize a speech and let Chairman Mao speak!"
When Mao Zedong was attacked by the "leftist" line, Chen Yi openly stood with Mao Zedong and supported his correct ideas.
In July, the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee held an enlarged meeting, and Bogu sent people to urge him to "thoroughly liquidate" Jiangxi's "Luo Ming line" and to "severely criticize" Deng, Mao, Xie, and Gu in order to eliminate Mao Zedong's influence in the localities, the party, and the Red Army.
At this time, Luo Ronghuan was transferred to serve as director of the Political Department of the Jiangxi Military Region. On this day, cadres at and above the ministerial level of the organs of the military region also attended the meeting. At the meeting, Chen Yi and Luo Ronghuan were under great pressure, but they refused to come to the stage to speak and criticize.
However, no one from the Jiangxi Military Region came to the stage to speak, and it was impossible to "get out." So, Chen Yi mobilized Zhong Ping, director of the Propaganda Department of the Military Region, to speak, but Zhong Ping refused.
