In the first quarter of 2024, global mobile phone sales will be released, Samsung will be the first, Xiaomi will be the third, and Huawei will be reduced to "others"?

In the first quarter of this year, mobile phone sales data came out, and the first place was Samsung, which almost withdrew from the Chinese market, with shipments of 60 million units and a global market share of 20.8%. Apple came in second with 50 million units sold and a market share of 17.3%, and it is worth noting that Apple's sales in the first quarter were the largest decline among the top five manufacturers, down 9.6% year-on-year.

The third to fifth places are all Chinese brands, with Xiaomi shipping 40.8 million units in the first quarter, Transsion 28.5 million units, and OPPO 25.2 million units. In other words, Xiaomi is the brand with the highest global market share among domestic manufacturers, and the Redmi model has contributed a lot.

I didn't expect Transsion to rank fourth in global sales, right? Zhu Zhaojiang of this company is a serious Chinese, but the Transsion mobile phones produced are mainly for Asia, Africa and Latin America, mainly low-cost and low-end machines. Of course, in African countries, a mobile phone equivalent to a few hundred yuan is not a bargain, and the local income level is too low.

The four major brands of vivo, Huawei, Honor, and Realme, failed to enter the top five in the world, and could only be classified as others. Many people may not understand why Huawei, which has a high reputation in China, failed to enter the top five in the world. The reason is that Huawei has almost no sales abroad, and the domestic market alone cannot make Huawei's sales reach a very high level, in fact, Huawei's overseas sales in 2020 are not as many as everyone thinks.

In the second quarter of 2020, Huawei's global shipments were 55.8 million units, surpassing Samsung's 54.2 million units and ranking first in the world. Of course, Huawei's global sales crown in this quarter is largely due to the booming domestic sales.

According to the breakdown of sales data by region, Huawei's domestic sales in the second quarter of 2020 were 39.7 million units, and vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi, which ranked second to fourth in domestic sales, together were 38.2 million units, which is not comparable to Huawei. If the number of domestic sales is excluded, Huawei's overseas sales in its heyday ranked fourth after Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi.

Therefore, at present, whether it is before or after the sanctions, Huawei mobile phones are mainly supported by Chinese consumers, and there is no situation of "selling out" overseas before the sanctions, which can only be said to be a very competitive mobile phone brand in the global market, far from being "far ahead".

For Huawei, the launch of a sub-brand is a feasible way to further increase sales. According to media reports, Huawei may also plan to do so, if it can really launch the Xingyaozi brand, it will have a fight with Redmi, OnePlus, Realme and other brands that focus on cost-effective mobile phones. Of course, there is a high probability that it will focus on the domestic market, and it will be difficult to enter the overseas market.
