When two accompanying passengers left the country through the departure hall of Luohu Port, they carried multiple pieces of luggage, and the machine inspection image was abnormal, and the customs officer immediately opened the box for inspection. Upon further inspection, $35 in cash was seized in the luggage of the two passengers, including books, pillows, pancake bags, etc. After counting, the total was 329,900 US dollars, equivalent to about 2.387 million yuan.
Customs reminds that according to national regulations, inbound and outbound passengers can carry a maximum of 20,000 yuan in RMB cash, and when they leave the country for the first time within 15 days, the limit is 5,000 US dollars, and the second time or more within 15 days, and the second and more departing passengers within 15 days, respectively, carry foreign currency cash with an equivalent value of no more than 1,000 US dollars and 500 US dollars, and the customs will not release them if they exceed the quota. If you really need to carry a large amount of cash in excess of the limit, you should apply for relevant documents from the foreign exchange administration department or the relevant bank in advance.
