From May 16th to 19th, there will not only be performances by the world's top extreme athletes, but also the Huangpu Riverside City Park will be transformed into the main venue of the sports festival, attracting sports fans from Shanghai, the country and the world to experience trendy and cool sports, convey the city's heat and feel the passion of the Olympic Games.

Chen Wenjun, deputy project manager of Shanghai Machinery Construction Group Co., Ltd., introduced that the construction of the Olympic Qualification Series Shanghai started in March, with the entire competition venue of 6,000 square meters and the city park covering an area of 110,000 square meters. At present, the actors' rest area and the second-floor reception area have been built, and the office and command center of the organizing committee have been renovated. The competition venue for breakdancing, BMX and rock climbing will be completed on April 20, and the skateboarding competition will be completed in early May.

Among the four competitions, BMX freestyle is the most niche, and the audience has limited understanding of it, which seems to be quite mysterious. However, because of the exaggerated action of the project and the cool and exciting atmosphere of the competition, the venue occupies the most eye-catching position in Huangpu Riverside City Park.
The reporter saw at the scene that the venue of the freestyle BMX park race has basically taken shape, and the prop units and obstacles such as throwing platforms, ridges, and walls are revealed, and the audience seats are only waiting to be set up around the venue. The Hurricane Group was responsible for the construction of the three major competition venues for breakdancing, freestyle BMX and skateboarding.

Pascal from Canada, Hurricane Group's sports venue design director, was responsible for the design of the BMX freestyle park race at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. In his opinion, the BMX track is different every time, and the runners only have one chance to adapt to the venue before the race, and they need to quickly design their own movement and movement in a short time.

Chen Hao, technical adviser of the Chinese national team and freestyle BMX referee, introduced that the riders in the competition need to use props and obstacles to complete a variety of technical actions, such as backflips and three laps of the handlebar over the throwing platform, ultra-long-distance cross-prop crossing plus "dragon tail swing", etc., fully showing personal creativity and style, and each athlete chooses a different driving route, which is a very infectious viewing experience.
There's something to see every day
The breaking venue is located in the Bund International E-sports Cultural Center in Shanghai, with the stage set in the center and scattered around the stands that can accommodate more than 1,000 spectators. The skateboarding project site is located in the former China Ship Museum, and the bowl pond and street-style project sites have begun to take shape. According to Zou Jie, a national referee of the China Roller Skating Association, the construction of the skateboard venue is mainly made of wooden boards, but there is a special process after the construction is completed - another layer of cement needs to be poured on the wooden boards, which accurately restores the urban temperament of skateboarding from the streets.

The Olympic Qualification Series Shanghai attracted 464 athletes from the BMX freestyle, skateboarding, rock climbing and breakdancing disciplines. In addition to the exciting competition in the four sports, the City Sports Festival will create a carnival of trendy sports for the audience.
