On April 7, the right hole of the Yunwushan No. 1 tunnel of the double line of the Yusui Expressway was completed. So far, the left and right double tunnels of Yunwushan No. 1 Tunnel have all been completed, marking the basic completion of the main project of the Yusui Expressway double-track and laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the whole line to traffic within the year.

Yunwushan Tunnel No. 1 is a double-hole tunnel, the left tunnel is 2,683 meters long, the right tunnel is 2,639 meters long, and the maximum buried depth is about 335 meters, which is a two-way six-lane tunnel. The entrance of the tunnel is located in Qitang Town, Bishan District, Chongqing City, and the exit is located in Pulu Street, Tongliang District, Chongqing City.

"The geological structure of Yunwushan No. 1 tunnel is complex, and there are undesirable geology such as gas, karst, and coal seam goaf. During the excavation process, fault fracture zones, fissures and water-rich areas have been encountered many times, and the construction safety risk coefficient is high. According to the relevant person in charge of the double-track project of Chongqing Expressway of China Railway 17th Bureau Group, the project team formulated a special construction plan for the bad geology such as fault fracture zone and karst development section, and timely detected and mastered the location and condition of the bad geological body ahead through geological radar and TSP, so as to provide a basis for the correct selection of the excavation construction plan, reduce the impact of adverse geological disasters, improve construction quality and ensure construction safety.

"In the next step, in addition to continuing to implement the remaining inverted arch, second lining and ancillary works of the tunnel, we will focus on the follow-up professional construction of road surface, traffic safety, mechanical and electrical. Zhao Gang, deputy director of the construction management department of the Chongqing double line company, said. Up to now, the overall completion of the project is about 90%, and it is expected to be completed and opened to traffic within this year.

It is reported that the double line of Yusui Expressway (Beibei to Tongliang section) is one of the expansion projects of Yusui Expressway in Chongqing's "Four Rings, 22 Shots and 60 Links" expressway network planning, with a total length of 27.2 kilometers. After the completion of the project, a new channel will be formed for the western Chongqing region to enter the northern part of the central urban area of Chongqing (Caijia-Yuelai-Jiangbei Airport Line), which is conducive to promoting the infrastructure interconnection and rapid economic development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
