On the morning of March 27, at the construction site of the southern extension of the underground road and infrastructure in the start-up area of Qingdao International Cruise Home Port Area, the roof steel arch structure with a total longitudinal span of about 130 meters was officially installed with the 300T crawler crane lifting the last section of the steel arch structural components gently. So far, the "Eye of the World" has realized the capping of the steel arch structure, and the outline of this landmark building in the cruise port area is officially presented, and the project as a whole is expected to be completed and put into use in 2025. Representatives of the Cruise Port Authority, the Rim Bay Group, and the heads of Shaanxi Construction Huashan (Qingdao) Company and other participating units witnessed the important moment of the project closing and capping.
It is reported that the "Eye of the World" is located in the cruise port area of the start-up area 023 plot, covering an area of about 14,500 square meters, with an above-ground construction area of 29,000 square meters, a building height of 38 meters, a total of 5 floors, the main structure adopts the "arch support single-layer grid + steel frame combination structure" to organize the construction, the maximum span of the arch structure is 90 meters, the maximum cantilever of the floor structure is 9 meters, the longitudinal length of the roof structure is 130 meters, and the transverse width is 75 meters. The steel structure construction components of this project are many, the structural system is complex, the steel arch is a large-span variable section bending and torsional member, and the construction of the node structure is difficult, especially the node at the support position is stressed. Based on the principle of safety prevention, the factory is arranged to process in sections according to the construction progress, and the supervision is organized to monitor the whole process of the bending and torsion wall plate and the arch section welding process and forming detection to ensure the overall installation accuracy of the bending and torsional shape of the single arch space. For the special-shaped bearing steel castings, the three-dimensional foam engraving mold process is adopted, which is machined by CNC machine tools to meet the surface accuracy of the node. The steel arch structure is closed and capped, marking the successful completion of the large-scale steel structure hoisting of the Eye of the World project, and the construction process with the most difficult construction is nearing the end. Next, the project will enter the roof curtain wall paving stage, which will combine the interior function and transparency requirements, and use the color glazed glass texture with gradual transparency, and the transparent material will form a rhythmic transition between static and dynamic, so as to add a sense of lightness to the building.
According to the design concept of Academician Wu Zhiqiang, Chief Planner of Qingdao International Cruise Port, the "Eye of the World" building is like an eye, "with the sea as the image, the stone as the shape, and the eye as the heart", which means to look at the world from Qingdao and let the world see Qingdao. As the core landmark building of the cruise port start-up area, the project takes "openness and sharing, green inclusiveness, wisdom and win-win" as the theme, lays out commercial and leisure formats, and links the cruise home port passenger transportation center and subway bus stations, which will comprehensively boost the vitality and charm value of the area.
The closing and capping of the steel arch structure marks the successful completion of the large-scale steel structure hoisting process with the highest difficulty in the construction of "Eye of the World". At present, the project has passed the acceptance of the "four-in-one" standard chemical site of construction safety production, quality management, civilized construction and intelligent construction in Qingdao, and has been selected into the cultivation list of construction safety and civilized standard chemical sites in Shandong Province, and will be completed and put into use in 2025 as planned.
